I have just recently developed an interest in falconry. Doing lots of research and reading, and lots of KZbin. I love your content! By far my favorite falconry channel. Keep up the good work!

you can thank author CJ Box and his character Nate Romanowksi and his Falcons that sent me to find videos on Falconry. and I am going to get my own as soon as possible now that I am an empty nester. I wish I knew about this when my kids were little and we lived on a ranch and had several pastures to go check on cattle.

Fantastic video!! In the initial hunts, she didn't seem to go for the rabbits at 100% and as a result she lost quite a few. What do you think is the reasoning for her to not commit 100%. Is it perhaps she was at a heavier weight or maybe that she was used to a lure that doesn't run as fast or kick as hard as a rabit;-) I must also say you have one of my favourite channels and I cannot wait for the next video to be released!!

Hey Keaton, in the beginning of the season I let her slowly get down to weight and build up muscle, conditioning and confidence. So early on in the season she is picky about slips she takes. Also with jackrabbits specifically, I don’t hunt them often and it takes a day of chasing them before she decides to grab one. Normally when I use the lure with the RC car, I will continue to drag it or have it “kick” after a bird I am training has grabbed it to simulate a live rabbit. The noise of a rabbit being caught they get used to fairly quickly. Thanks for watching the videos👍🏼

@@jaguartrev1 ah ha! Thank you for replying and letting me know that it was the weight. Yes I remember you pulling her with the car to simulate the "kicks" in the other videos. It's amazing the difference from the beginning hunts to the end hunts. She goes from picky to fighter jet! Really awesome falconry skill! Your patience to let her kill, or slowly bring her weight down really taught me to not rush the process and instead slow down and trust thr process. Well done on the vid and an amazing bird!

Love all your videos Trevor. I've been a falconer for 13 years and the only accipiters I've flown were passage coops. I keep hoping for an ivan video. are you flying him this season as well?
@jaguartrev15 жыл бұрын
Slick Willy I ended up not having enough time to fly my goshawk, eagle and Cooper’s hawk so I don’t have Ivan anymore and the rehab eagle was released. Down to just the goshawk now. What are you hunting with your passage coops normally?

Trevor, I figured as much. Flying multiple birds can be unrealistic at times unless your a full time stay at homer lol. I manage and live on a horse farm in central pennsylvania but even so, this time of year the days are just too short and finding enough free time to put my 2 kbirds on enough slips is difficult. Summertime starlings are a different story. Giselle is a gorgeous bird man and looks like you really know your stuff. Keep it up and I'll be looking out for her next video. ✌
