Hiccup's performance when he's pleading with his dad was spectacular! I don't care how many people complain about the acting, this kid carries the whole show.

8yrs late- since i was a kid when this performance happened but i agree on this. I felt like Hiccups normal line was a bit extra and awkward but in this scene it was needed and he nailed it! I felt that and it pretty much made up for all awkward scenes!

I felt like hiccup is kinda a little extra when it comes to normal lines but that extra is just perfect when it comes to the heartbreaking scenes- it totally made up for all the extra awkward ones.

This show nailed the heartbreak from "The Kill Ring" at 11:55, with Hiccup's actor breaking his voice to plead.

The show itself really isn't that bad, especially the flying scenes, but the acting really needs some work. I know that these are some pretty tough parts, but I could even pull of a better Hiccup! I have to admit, Gobber wasn't that bad, though.

Kinda agree. Some are just not it like when hiccup yelled for his dad to listen to him. That scene should've been like the one in the movie in my opinion. And the lines felt rush.. That scene was my favorite because of the way it gives the relatable feels and kinda upset me he yelled it first instead of running over and grabbing stoic first. But the pleading in the arena while toothless was being taken was on point though.

They normally can, but I don't think the special effects crew could make it work here. Heck, they couldn't find a way to make it walk on its wings, so they made it quadrupedal (four-legged).

It's a bit hard to do justice with the animatronics, I'm sure. Especially given that this was years ago. It's not accurate but it doesn't really bother me, personally. It's just about the best they could do at the time and doesn't ruin the performance for me

I feel that all the actors did a bad job of portraying their characters. Hiccup was too dramatic and emotional and Astrid was just to girly. I dont care if they kiss because they arent the real Hiccup and Astrid in the first place and they cant even act well enough to convince me enough that they are. I could portray Hiccup better and Im a girl! But, being a espiring actress myself, Im still saying they tried really hard and they had very difficult stunts to perform so good for them.

Astrid is girly. In the movie she does keep her hands on her waist, when she walks she swings her waist, she wears thick mascara, she even has a skirt on. And she goes all goo-goo over baby dragons. She is strong, independent and very girly. "girly" doesn't mean "not tough"

Horsey Gal There's a difference in acting in movies or on stage. In order for the whole audience to see what an actor is doing on stage, it has to be extra dramatical and over the top, other wise they'll miss what's happening. There is no place for subtle acting. That's why it's so dramatic. It takes a while to get used to, but I understand why they act like they do.

Umm,Toothless is too fat and too slow (You can't expect him to be fast when he has metal shit all over his body) The Monstrous Nightmare (or Hookfang) is really fat and has 4 legs (Hookfang only has 2 legs) Still awesome and Trolol you can't reply. :D
