True she deserves every single penny. That is why men is the natural breadwinner cause they dont give birth. Women sacrifice their body to give birth to a baby. And for her to be the breadwinner and giving birth to their children that’s a lot of giving on her part and lots of taking on his part. She deserves half of what he is earning now. Period.

This is why some women refuse to build a man or marry a man who isn't financially successful. This is the reason why women go for the men who have already made it.

she cannot relate because she has entered into marriage with financial security of her own. I think she is speaking solely on individuals choosing to make sacrifices but when those sacrifices don't pay off, they turn around and blame everyone else for their original decision. She is correct--with every sacrifice you make, it is a risk that all will turn out as expected. Hardly likely when dealing with human beings. I think expecting spousal support and all of that is a separate matter from who is to blame.

i agree with adrienne and y’all. adrienne is making logical sense but i don’t believe it’s “all her fault”. both of them, the woman AND MAN, knew what the women was getting into. he knew she would sacrifice her life for him but he fucked her over. that’s cheese. loni is right she just loved him. Personally though, as a person you used logic for the decisions i make, this isn’t the 1950s. women need to provide for themselves because gender roles are fading and this country is becoming even more capitalist. y’all need to make smarter decisions that are not based on emotion.

These women speak this way because they have celebrity jobs. Housewives who sacrifice woking full time to care for there own children instead of babysitters, daycare, or nanny. They do need compensation. This is the hardest but most emotionally rewarding work. Because this is the sacrifice couples choose to make when becoming parents. But sad to say paycheck and credentials are not attached to full time mothers and housewives.

Im with Lonnie.. No offense Adrienne, but your not a mother and until you have to sacrifice a part of your self identity and career for them and so that your spouse can live their dreams then you cant relate. I don't think shrugging your shoulders and saying "Oh Well! she didnt have to be selfless", then you wont really understand. Even in divorce he should have made sure that she was okay mentally, emotionally, and financially... Just like she made sure he was okay to follow his dreams for 14 years

Wow, I can't believe how dismissive Adrienne is being. I'm not married, nor do I have kids but I can completely understand where his ex-wife is coming from. This is especially sad because it happens all the time. Women sacrifice their career or give all they can to make their partners dreams come true and then when they become successful they cheat or leave their wives for younger and more attractive women. STOP THIS RIDE OR DIE BS! It's a mentality created by men to keep women complacent and in toxic relationships

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 your comment is SPOT on. People who share Adrienne's perspective need to listen & hear what Loni and Tamara are saying. More women than men lose themselves within their marriage to support their husbands dream. I also want to mention Omari Hardwick who plays Ghost in Power, he attributes ALL of his success to his wife because she held him down during the years before he became successful. They way he talks he has no plans to ever leave his wife.

MusiqQueen6 You started by accusing Adrienne of being dismissive, then ended by saying that women should stop the ride-or-die behavior, but it seems to me that you’re actually saying the same thing she said. Women have been conditioned to stop living their own lives to support someone else’s, and that needs to stop, yes you make sacrifices but that doesn’t mean you should sacrifice who you are as a person. There’s no question that a lot of women do that, I think her point was that women should stop doing that. We should stop feeling like we have to sacrifice who we are for love. Seems to me that Adrienne’s point is that there are 2 options. Either the woman chose to sacrifice even her own identity for her man (in which case she can’t blame anyone because it was her choice), or she did it because she felt like she didn’t have a choice (in which case that should have been a red flag, because women shouldn’t stay in a relationship where she has no choice about whether to sacrifice who she is or not).

Say it louder for the babes in the back, Loni! I was in a relationship for over 10 years. We were engaged for 2 of the last years. We were building a life together as people who plan to marry do. I moved out of state for him and his career. After we moved he completely emotionally neglected and abandoned me. Yes, your own happiness is your own responsibility. But we are only human, so when we struggle we look to our tribes/villages to seek refuge and support. All I needed from him was friendship. Humanity. I was lucky to have support elsewhere. It was just hard to face that I no longer could rely on him for friendship. It's hard to face that someone who has been with you for so many years could just be done. That was the hardest hurdle to overcome. I am a phenomenal woman, I was in a struggle and he didn't commit to good & bad times. So I moved on. I do not blame him... it was disappointing. I spent 15 years of my life putting man in front of my own happiness to make sure they became successful. What it that got me bankrupt and broken hearted. I will take the blame for not putting myself first. But, I will not take blame for being kind hearted, loving, understanding, and a bomb ass girlfriend to my exes. They shouldn't had token money from me if love wasn't the goal at the end. She deserves money for the emotional sacrifice she put in.

I get it, and she’s completely entitled to financial compensation. This is why I keep saying as women we need to stop giving everything up then regretting it. We really do need to remember who we are. I feel like so many of us do everything to lift them up but rob ourselves of long term happiness.

What about the decisions he was a part of making Adrienne? Doesn't he also have to take responsibility for those too? He isn't and wasn't blind to the sacrifices that she was making whilst supporting him. He was a part of those decisions too. And he now has to take responsibility for those decisions by giving her, her fair share! And in marriage you shouldn't be making decisions based on how it will benefit you when the marriage fails. You should be making the best decisions for your family!

I Because when you help propel your spouse or partner into a higher social status which affords them a certain amount access and visibility, that leads to more temptations (New levels New Devils). It takes a strong man with mountains of integrity to grasp all that money, power, popularity, and influence yet still humble himself and come home to his “normal” wife and family and feel fulfilled. It’s insecurity and fear of missing out. Hopefully Jessie made the right decision and didn’t ruin a great beautiful thing chasing silicon in Calabasas.

I feel like women make LOTS of sacrifices...I know for a fact all of the ones that made sacrifices for their partners can say " hey , trust me , it wasn't easy " BUT... one example of a woman who is working on not only doing things for their marriage but for themselves and still having a spark in their marriage is our very own Tam! The one thing I love is that even though she did fall in the trap of ( subconsciously ) feeling the need to only focus on the aspects of being a mother and wife , NOW she is starting to love the parts of her of being a woman in general without adding those two descriptions in the mix... and now that she is... her husband is falling in love with her EVEN MORE ! And that is what I love !

I don’t think Adrienne will understand what everyone is saying until she becomes a mother. When women become wives & mothers, most of the time they sacrifice themselves for the family. A.k.a putting jobs on hold to raise the kids, putting their futures on hold to make sure the family is taken care of. We typically take care of everybody else before ourselves. That lady deserves every penny!
