Part Three : Figaro, Democritus and Moondust : pregnancy updates - 19th May 2024

Part THREE of our SECOND video series on the pregnancy journey of our Guinea Pigs.
For this series, we will be following our Females Democritus and Moondust - Dad of the litters will be Figaro. He was the Dad to the last litter that Democritus had earlier in 2024.
This is the third video - we introduced the three together on Sunday 7th April 2024. All have been weighed and we shall see how things progress. We weigh all our Guinea Pigs each Sunday.
Today - Sunday 19th May 2024, we get close up and you can see how lovely this trio are. Lots of great views and info on the three Guinea Pigs - all so far is good and they have settled together really well indeed. And we give you a weight update as well !

We have had Guinea Pigs for many years as pets and our breeding is very low level and also very well planned indeed. We are well under our capacity and we also have lots of time for our pets. If you are thinking on breeding your Guinea Pigs, please ensure you have read up lots, watched lots of videos and also thought about it once again ! You have to consider that female Guinea Pigs can have litters of up to 6 babies.....where will they eventually go ?!?
All of our Guinea Pigs are well cared for, weighed every week and you can read reviews of our care, conditions etc on our Website (link underneath).
I also speak at many local children's groups such as Cubs, Beavers, Brownies and Guides - discussing Animal Welfare to them in a clear, honest manner. These talks are very popular and the message of Animal Welfare is listened to - see the reviews on our Website.

We shall see how it all goes, certainly we know that Figaro and Democritus 'work' - so they're pairing should be ok. We just will wait on Moondust - we are confident on things. I think that Democritus will be pregnant before Moondust.

They are always really calm, then the camera gets switched on !!!! Democritus and Figaro do get on really well normally, I think at that point, the sun way quite warm, and we'd just lifted them off the grass - where they had been rather happy ! Lucky we did a short-ish video anyway. There wasn't much to update with this time - hopefully Video 4 will have some positive news.............oooooooh

How lucky is figaro to be spending his time with two lovely ladies ❤ hope there is baby news soon? someone asked if any of you guinea-pigs had got free & had an adventure well one of mine scrappy Doo had quite an adventure yesterday he some how got out his indoor exercise pen went behind the fixed in kitchen units & it took 6 hours to get him out had to dismantle some of the units. ... he's fine thankfully

Phew - lucky Scrappy Doo ! He and your others all got a mention when we recorded Q+A Videos 5 and 6 : these are released this and next Wednesday. Figaro is enjoying his stay, he has a nice life to be honest ! He himself is putting on weight, so he's certainly contented !!!!! We hopefully should have some sort of update in the next fortnight - the females don't generally add on the 'little weight jump' of 50/80g in a week until they are about 5 weeks pregnant, and their system cycle every 18 days, and they met Figaro on the 7th April, so we must be pretty close to some news.......if they only carry one baby, then it really is slightly more tricky to know they they are pregnant !

Yes, they are lovely together and they all do get on with each other. Never had any problems between Democritus and Moondust - they knew each other in Aug/Sept/Oct of 2023.
