You forgot to mention Unity Mitford, Hitler's British Girl, who was almost certainly the reason for Eva Braun's 2nd suicide attempt in 1935. Hitler was playing them off against each other. Unity was another Hitler girl who attempted suicide. Worth an episode of its own, Diana and Unity Mitford.

Somewhere, sitting in front of a monitor with her eyes clenched shut, Sophie is shaking her head while listening to this podcast.

She didn't even need to be listening to it. She just psychically knew what was up

Certainly puts another perspective on Matt Walsh's desire for 16 year olds to be available to old men.

Republicans seem to feel they should be available at age 11.

Even the obsession with cleanliness, that would have been instilled not only by a standard German upbringing but his time in WWI, where soldiers tried to be clean whenever they could. And the obsession with syphilis, that disease was *rampant* in Hitler's time, especially his formative years. There were no antibiotics, remedies were things like mercury, plus syphilis is a clever disease that can hide out in the body for extended periods of time. As diseases go, syphilis is one of the bastards you'd write about if you included germs.

*Look. In fairness to Hitler...* words i never thought i'd say. When Adolf said to call him Wolf, he would've said Ulf, in German, which is a much more reasonable nickname, being more a natural shortening of Adolf than Wolf. Sooo... i guess there's that, at least. While telling this child he's preying upon over her mother's grave to call him it. Oof. I mean uf.

No, it was 'Wolf' - Hitler's fantasies of control over women would have been peaking with a little girl crying her eyes out due to a situation he'd 5D-chessed her into.

People often ask me why I read numerous books on Hitler and the third Reich, and my answer basically boils down to "know thy enemy."

If you want an example of a serial killer ruling a country, Francisco Macias Nguema is right there.

I could see the thought of his sex life's details (regardless of what they were) getting made public driving him to have many of those girls murdered, knowing how weirdly persnickity he was about sex generally, I could see it being something as innocuous as one of them mentioning something to her friend, as gossip or something, and then it getting back to him and making him enraged. I'm not saying it's what happened, but I wouldn't be surprised. That kinda dude would take something like that as an absolute betrayal.
