No, it just looks that way because it is very neat. Cornrows basically lock the hair in place so the style is not moving all over the place and pulling hair out of the follicle. Most braids look tight when they are neat)
@jheht2000
@jheht2000 4 жыл бұрын
As long as there is no obvious tension at the root(follicle), then it is fine. I have a client that suffers from alopecia that gets cornrolls, so you must be gentle to not cause more hair loss.
@Varaidzo1

I'm not an expert but common sense tells me the best thing you can do when you have alopecia is stay far away from anything that may function to pull at or tighten the hair. These cornrows are beautiful

That’s my question. Yes, it looks beautiful! But if the goal is to protect the hair, I would think braids r the last thing u should do. Throw on a quick wig for daily while conditioning underneath. Save braids and/or frontals for special events. Idk 😐. Anyone with alopecia have input??

To take time out of your day, where you could be doing a million different things -or where you could be doing someone’s hair that you don’t have to spend extra time on; speaks volumes on you. God touched your hands & your heart specially. & imma stop cuz I’m a crybaby! Good job though & tell your client she’s beautiful. It looks cute but better believe, it's pulling out the hair that she has left. I have alopecia and I chose to not get braids because it pulls my hair out and my hair doesn't grow back like every one else's. It grows in patches so I don't want to risk it for a hairstyle Anymore. I did that all through my teenage years and my 20s I risked the health of my hair for a cute hairstyle now Im smarter about it

Sandra Dwyer, what did you do to get rid of alopecia?
@sandraD3971
@sandraD3971 4 жыл бұрын
@@rosajohnson5212 I wore extensions for years as l loved how I could get up and go without worrying about my hair.But after 10 years of wearing them l finally realised l wouldn't have any hair if l continued.It left me with traction alopecia,so began my healing journey of natural hair.l went to a tricologist and started their programme of healing my scalp for 2 years.Hair/scalp treatments,hair vitamins. From there l followed their homecare routine of applying minoxidil daily which improved my hair but it's not for longterm use.Then began looking for natural remedies which l now use.Natural growth oil with 50 ingredients,massage my scalp 3 times a week.Twist my hair using fingers and wear silk headscarves for sleeping.Love looking and appreciate the beautiful styles hair extensions offer but l know from my journey,if l want to keep my hair healthy it has to be no extensions or chemicals.Sad but true.🤷🏽‍♀️

@@sandraD3971 , thank you sooooo much for this prompt and detailed reply. I too was told by dermatologist, that my hair loss is due to hairstyles. I did the same thing. I wore braods a lot, but I didn't think it would bother my hair. I'm still not sure that's the cause, because hair fell off/ diminished my entire body. I will try a tricologist, to see what comes up from that. Thanks again, and I'm happy that your hair is doing a come back!☺🙌
