IM building this same battery pack for a rc plane, what gauge wire do you recommend , sorry cant tell watching video. thanks for any advice
@maixechrys626410 ай бұрын
15:44 Rule of thumb will be 10% above the maximum amperage that the battery can deliver (its burst C rating). I believe that since rc planes dont consume much current you should be fine with 14awg or 12awg.

Hey. Can you build your battery pack on a upward scale? Like 4 , then 4 on top and then another 4 on top etc.... let me know and how. Thanks 😎👍🇨🇦

Hello thanks for stopping by, what is the required voltage (3s,4s or more)?
@mikehalvorsen47888 ай бұрын
What I'm trying to accomplish is making a homemade scooter and hiding the battery packs in a " dummy" frame. I want to have maybe three steel cylinders with the batteries incased and attached together. It will be a set of four on-top another four, upward. My question is how would you a joint the batteries going upwards?

Great explanation. One tip for you, get some flux, it will make your solder flow much better requiring less heat and stronger bonds. A couple of your joints looke like cold joints which are a lot weaker. 👍

Helo can somebody help me i have a question i have a ebike 240watt motor the standard battery is a 24v 10amp now i want new battery en i see 18650battery of 10 to 35 amps can the bike handle 35amp battery (i need a 7cells battery en wand to put in itch cell 6 battery that makes 3.7v itch cell en total of 24v 30amps)
@sphamandlas.madlala65304 жыл бұрын
It should be fine with a proper BMS, the motor will draw the current it requires from the battery i.e. 10amps at 24V. keep in mind that the motor will draw current to it maximum power which in your case is 240watts, what im implying is, as the pack voltage decreases the amount of current the motor draws will increase hence why you will need a proper BMS to protect the pack.
@maixechrys62644 жыл бұрын
@@sphamandlas.madlala6530 Sorry for the late reply as long as the voltage is the same as the stock battery and the amp draw does not go beyond the capability of the battery (C rating) everything is fine. Hope you already figured out a solution by now, please share if your project worked!

14,15 volts total 3,7v x8 = 29,6 volts why only 14,15?
@maixechrys62644 жыл бұрын
Hello thank you for your question. So assuming you are reffering to the thumbnail photo that is depicts a pair (2) of batteries connected in parallel, each pair consisting of 4x3.7 volt cells so a total of 8 seperate 18650 batteries for both packs. Each of the 4x18650 batteries (a single pack) are connected in series, the voltage is the sum of the batteries included in the pack (4x3,7v=14.8v) and the capacity is the same. (assuming the nominal voltage of each of the 18650 batteries to be 3.7v, unless you want the min 2.9v rating or max 4.20v) Vice versa for the parallel connection between the two packs that give no increase in voltage but doubles the capacity. I hope this clarifies the issue but if this is not what you meant please tell me what is the schematic you are reffering to in the timeline. Stay safe!

Your schematic doesn't match the battery as built, luckily. It doesn't show the parallel connections of the middle two cells in each 4S section, only the outer two of each. If it was made according to your schematic those cells wouldn't be balance charged and would end up as a disaster fast.

Hello friend, I think you're messing up with your battery. Li-ion cells must not be exposed to long duration heat..you see, it destroys the capacity of the battery.
@maixechrys62643 жыл бұрын
Yes, long duration heat should be kept to a minimum.
