What I do is rewrite the lecture notes in my own words before the lecture, then during lecture compare the lecturer's explanations with my own understanding. If there is a difference, ask myself why. If I can't figure it out, find a time to ask the lecturer about it. After the notes have been tidied up, do as much problems as possible when it is study time.

My topology professor gave an interesting lecture note strategy: take zero notes during lecture. It worked surprisingly well (but requires note taking outside of class).

@@EliteTeamKiller2.0 There is actually some good reasoning behind that statement. When you don't take notes, you are fully invested in the lecture; you aren't focused on writing stuff down. When you go back home, you have to try and recount the stuff that was said in the lecture, which I believe is a way to memorize stuff.

During revision, I first revise my notes with pen and paper and then I start by solving 10 to 15 basic problems. Afterwards I remember most of the material and after that I solve 15 moderately difficult and try to solve 15 hard problems.

@@tarunsharma8436 easy problems i think are directly based on the formula or doesnt involve much stuff moderate problems i feel is you require to carefully analyse the question for examples in a pulley the result are different if you have spring or a string so i think it requires a little more thinking than easy ones now the hard problems are layered or you can see them as intermixing of different concept ie made of different intermediate problems based on your level your interpretation of hard maybe different from mine.

My study method for physics. I read the chapter, working examples given as I go. At the end of the chapter I work all solved problems first, checking each to see if I got them right. I rework any wrong until I get it right or decide the book might be wrong (happens more than I'd like). Usually I grab a different text and go over the problems in that book, pertaining to the same area of study. If I have time, I'll work the unsolved problems too, but after exhausting the solved ones.

All great suggestions. One thing I've found helpful is to take each discrete topic (eg. pulleys, inclined planes, square wells, Carnot engines etc...) and try to find problems that ask all the different possible combinations you could possibly have of them. Each species of problem tends to come in only a handful of permutations and even then there are often "classic problems" which always come up. Mastering as many of the problems which only cover a single concept I found makes me more prepared at answering the likely more comprehensive questions you'll see on an exam. I've found focusing on past test questions or the more comprehensive type of questions to be less effective because you wind up just practicing for those specific questions which you almost certainly won't see. If you know inclined plane and pulley questions cold then you'll be well armed to answer a question about a block on an inclined plane attached to a pulley...

4:33 this has helped me check my problems a few times, already (still my first semester). once we had to plug some guesses for radius and angular velocity of a bottomless spinning cilinder that used fraction to keep people inside the cilinder from falling. checking the centripetal force helped me notice my guesses would 100% kill everyone in there by centrifuging their blood.

I'm currently studying physics at Imperial. I spend time as I'm going through my courses actively trying to learn the material so I don't need to do as much 'memorisation' near exams. I also try to do all problem sheets and after a course is complete even if it's a first term course I try to start revising properly for the exam which is usually in may. In terms of actually solving problems I find a good technique is gradually building up the difficulty of problems on each topic otherwise if I start with the really hard questions when I'm still trying to understand the material I end up being unproductive and frustrated

Im in grade 8 and I really love physics. Im interested in it, so i want to try it. What I do for physics is that If I dont understand something, I ask my teacher or search on youtube about it. If I still dont understand, I go look back to the basics. For example, Im trying to learn about acceleration, and I dont understand it. So, What I can do is review everything I took. If I dont know about velocity and speed and about vector quantity and scalar quantity, I wont understand what acceleration is. That's why reviewing and re-learning the basics are so important. I ask lots of questions, even if its stupid, questions are very important. I take notes when the teacher explains about a certain topic. And I try to teach what i've learned to the students in my grade level. Teaching something can really be beneficial for you and for the student your teaching to. And I talk to my self a lot about everything around me, and most importantly, I ask why. When i'm bored, I sit alone and talk to my self about the universe and why things are like this and stuff. For example I question my self that why when the earth moves up the speed of light, time slows or stops. And I try to answer myself. Yeah thats pretty much it. I ask lots of questions, sit alone by myself and question reality so much, re-learning everything I took before even the basics of it, I take notes , and I teach some student in my class what I've learned.

the most important thing that i do is giving life to equations i try to always use the math as a language to translate my ideas . sometimes i can easily find the solution mathematically however i don't do that until i fully understand the problem physically and know what to expect as solution then i do the math . and also i do physics almost every day for 1h30 to 2 but no more than that and that works very well for me

whenever im solving a physics problem i draw the freebody diagram( pretty sure youve heard this a million times alr) and then I list all my known variables (explicit and implicit) AND my unknown variables. Why? because I know, instinctively, what to solve for. And you will too. with the next step to make sure im using the right units, and start crunching the numbers.

I don't write lecture notes any more. Instead I write lecture problems. "What is the definition of x? Explain the relationship between y and z. Sketch a diagram of ___ and label its key features." Afterwards, I write up notes by answering as many of the questions as I can from memory. Anything I can't remember, I mark to revisit. Then I compare my answers with the slides/recordings/textbook and check what I've missed. Stops me writing beautiful notes and not absorbing a word of it. Also great for revision, if you can look at past papers and figure out the style of questions they're likely to ask.

Once you do, than hopefully, you will appreciate how little we know. All the scientific knowledge we have is based on "normal" matter. Which is only 5% of the universe. I'd personally say none of them. Time is a conjecture created by men, not really a physical reality, rather a conventional one. Saying we travel through it would mean we basically just life our life, since we can perceive time just when we are alive and fully aware. The second statement instead implies that time is almost part of a spiritual realm, that exists independently from our living and pervades us.

I agree with everything but your sanity check "example". Its hypothetical nature aside, no rule declared by a physicist should ever be considered absolute in the face of math or observation. When both the math and the observation is telling you that the cosmological constant doesn't apply, then guess what? Sanity means following the facts, not a manmade rule. Insanity is to make a rule and never consider that there might be exceptions. In this case, particles are real (not waves the way demanded by QM fuzziness) and their wave function is collapsible, in which the real particle is no longer bound to the wave function and thus follows a higher physic that can only be tracked through classical mechanics, not QM. Math is not wrong just because you can't observe it. It's only wrong if the observation contradicts it.
