15,000 views and only 113 likes? That’s frustrating to me. This is good content and I feel like in the comments section there might be a more lively discussion and not 14,500 lurkers. Anyway, good stuff guys. This is what got my interested in you guys. I thought I’d give you guys a try and listen to this. Might actually comment on the content further on.

@mullamohaymen The clip above is merely a 30-minute excerpt from one of the two Hegel Phenomenology episodes. You may wish to go to the PEL website (URL listed above), and listen to the entirety of the two 90-minute episodes devoted to The Phenomenology of Spirit. You can also download from iTunes the two episodes in full.

I'm here filling my Chinese communist virus hours with philosophy before the football games. I have no scaffolding underneath this first "exposure" to Kant, Hegel, etc. I am here in part thanks to The Sopranos, J. Peterson, Zizek, Jackson, Kollman, Fanduel...existentialism, Dostoyevski, my roomm8 from Virginia Beach, when I lived there...the Doors, Alice in Chains, Van Halen, Black Sabbath...alright, that has got to be helpful as far as acknowledging my own personal paradigm. Wish me luck thinkers and bullshitters alike.

The Objective and the Subjective are happening at the same time for a Mountain climber. Surface appeal and Underlying form are part of knowing a motorcycle. Shadows can fool you. Nature has regularity.

Awesome podcast! I wish I could discuss too! Once I'm done with my undergraduate philosophy degree perhaps :)

@Professoranton Ah, what a coincidence. I'm a subscriber to your channel and PEL is also one of my favorite podcasts.

As cultural filter go, I am sure Sun worshipers in ancient times saw the Sun differently than we do. NOT all statement are equally true, but that does not mean non are true. The recipe for baking a cake is not an illusion.

It's like Hegel is only preocupied about the differences. The inter-fluid. Napoleon was the spirit of the time but Raskolnikov was Napoleon, also. At least he felt like Him.

Dear listeners/podcasters, I have searching for this particular podcast on the official Partially examined life web page but I've had no luck in finding it. If someone could be kind enough to post a link to this podcast, it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Aleegeri

great, but where is the dynamic? Hegel does not present "Sence Certainity", "Understanding" and "Force" as separate levels of conscientiousness these are lead to each other dynamically. the speakers did not show the dynamic in their discussion.

I had a dream about my old college girlfriend who told me she knew what 'green' tasted like AND...'felt' like when she was tripping on LSD in high school. We laughed 'cause we were both 'high'.

Interesting because I remember feeling what the color blue felt like.
