This is an incredibly difficult piece to play and it takes a lifetime to master. It is a raw presentation of mourning and pain from Bach and it requires the experience of life in order to fully comprehend the music. Perlman is able to capture this brilliantly and I applaud his performance. I truly believe that if the universe ended, this piece should be last thing that should play across the entire universe before it dissolves into nothingness.

This is by far the best interpretation of any of Bach's works. Perlman has the best tone quality out of all the recording I've heard! He has always been my favorite, and this song just solidifies him forever in my heart! Such a great talent that Perlman has!

as a pianist, who doesn't understand violin, I have to say that from the performances known to me, which are not many, but some... I adore this one. Somehow I stopped searching for other performances, my soul adheres to this one. The piece is unbelievable, I suspect Bach once again that he just heard God singing and was pretty busy to record all of that on paper. Perlman's playing is so subtle, the tempi he chooses here, the nuances, moods he is able to make you feel, his bow control, which as far as I can discern seems excellent to me, it's like hearing universe or God himself play... really touching and moving

De las mejores versiones que puede haber en el mundo, entre las cinco debe estar, para mi siempre estará de primeras la versión de Menuhin y luego la de Mintz, Mil gracias

No matter what, this piece always makes me feel like Bach understands what life is truly about. I never fail to cry. Beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous.

Perlman nous offre une superbe interprétation de la Chaconne ... de loin la meilleur à mes oreilles.

I will never tire of hearing this. Brahms thought this Chaconne was “one of the most wonderful and most incomprehensible pieces of music." Extraordinarily powerful playing by Perlmann.

Perlman is just absolutely wonderful. This is a bit like a slower version of Milstein or Heifetz's interpretation. I, personally, like that energy that comes with playing slightly faster that Heifetz puts into his version. But overall, Perlman is my favorite violinist ever.
