Y not just buy a ford saving all the conversion time and money like I did. I bought a BA gas car under 1 k. No hassles. But nevertheless, great hot rodding skills to you , being well mechanical minded.

u Americans know these barra engines are sand casted? most Barras are amazing BUT not all! some have imperfections from the casting process and FORD knew this and blueprinted/handpicked motors for FPV models. Fun Fact for the day

Nah, the coilovers are cheap for those things as they fit other cars too from memory, heaps of second hand ones around.

It may be only in a straight line but considering conservatively ($250k for the Ferrari) it's $28,000 per second for the Ferrari and $321 for the VH, someones certainly getting more for their money. Thr Ferrai would be faster round the track too, but would you really? And your brakes and tyres alone would need replacing fot at least $3,800. So who cares what's in it these days. It's still all homegrown, including this owners ingenuity. Well done fella and thanks Fullboost

I LOVE a budget build with an NA motor and ebay turbo but lets not pretend things like fuel pump, turbo oil lines, injectors, tune, intercooler, tigged alloy intercooler piping, full 3.5" exhaust, B&M shifter, racepack dash, slcks, stall converters, built tailshaft inst easily $5000+ lets not give people false hope

I know the owner/driver and they were just out testing trying to set a good time on stock tires. Just because they sit at the line a little longer doesn't mean they're laughing at the other car or something like that? It's literally a test and tune day where you go out and race whoever ends up next to you, looking at this car at the strip without seeing it run, you wouldn't be able to tell if it's a 14 sec car or an 8sec car

No boost controller, it's just running waste gate pressure, which happened to work out at 12psi. No screamer pipe either, it just vents straight out of the waste gate towards the sump! It's gold.

$150 engine, series 1 engine 9.7:1 compression. Seems to be holding up well. He didn't stop racing and giving it heaps. They weren't worried about popping it at all.

There would be a fair amount of labour in making new engine mounts, getting bends made up and welded, and whatever else he had to do to get the box/drive shaft to fit. Would be surprised if that all fell in his lap. Could be his trade but yeah seems sketchy.

Junkers if you can weld and have basic fabrication skills, there is minimal cost to do those things. Steel itself is cheap, and a lot can be modified or butchered from wrecker parts. As for the dash, there are generic digital dash units that look like this for just over $300 on eBay. Apart from those tyres, tuning would be the biggest expense unless you know someone with the skills and a dyno. Cheers!
