What about a sewer line endorsement? Should you go through your insurance company , a third party, or your utility company? What’s typically covered, what’s not, and is it necessary if you have a backup sewer line endorsement? Thanks!

Mark: TY for the informative video. Do you have any opinion(s) on how Farmers purchase of Met Life Auto and Homeowners Insurance Company could affect policyholders?

If it changes it will be years before they decide to do so. I would bet it won’t anytime soon. Usually when a large corporation buys another in insurance, they let it operate as if it was separate. If/when Farmers revamps it, they might even adopt some of their best practices to help Farmers. If not, then you’ll get a policy change notice 3 weeks before your renewal.

@@ThinkInsurance My initial thinking was that Zurich/Farmers wanted to continue their presence in the USA Market. Met Life is often very reasonable but last 18 months or so have been raising rates but still a good deal for many. I wonder if Farmers will work to keep Met Life competitive and an option in the markets/risks Farmers does not wish to participate?

My guesstimate is that Farmers wants to reach areas that Met Life already has. They already have Bristol west, Foremost and dissolved 21st Century (minus CA). Those are more of their higher risk departments. Or, it could be that they have extra money and buying another agency is better than organically growing more.

You could check with the cover app in the description. They shop 30 companies instantly. In the meantime, what state are you in?

Other options to look at are Grange, State Farm and Geico. They are going to be competitive. Let me know how it turns out
