This is psychology's "downfall" I guess. The subject became so broad that you're learning about everything that you never imagined including parts of the eye! I remember these sub topics were hard to get through as they seemed irrelevant to what you expect to get out of a psychology course but we had to learn them unfortunately to pass.

I don't usually think of this as a weakness. I've always liked the interdisciplinary nature of psychology, though it does mean that many introductory topics are rarely mentioned again once one gets into a specific area of research.
