This video is so simple to learn! I like how you break it down step by step verse most instructors just use a labeled image it makes alot more sense adding to the photo then just explaining it thank you

I generally don't teach the M-line to my students, but it is basically the dark band that runs through the H zone (where myosin filaments attach to one another)

Thank you so much!! This was so helpful, one thing though. My professor told me that myofibrils were the contractile units, however the sarcomeres were the segments of the myofibrils.. is it the same thing?

yes. many sarcomeres constitute a myofibril. i dont know if this piece of info would be useful to you rn..

I-band error: When relaxed, the I-band is between Z-disc and A-band (or end of myosin). This video incorrectly shows I-band overlapping Z-disc. H-band error: Also, H-band does not include actin or thin filament. H-band is measured from the two inside ends of actin (thin) filaments. This video was helpful with labeling structures. Thanks for that.
