I’ve been listening to London’s stories on the Rene Dupree podcast and it’s insane how much crap they would give him. It's depressing how many people on this list had their careers ruined through basically no fault of their own. David Scultz in particular was hung out to dry by Vince, who basically told him to go rough up John Stossel, then threw him under the bus when it became a PR nightmare.

That Ken Kennedy's WWE run ends in the goofy "I'm mad at Denver" match is always wild. What a train wreck of a match.
@Bman32x6 ай бұрын
The wildest part about all of that, is that WWE was actually in the right. They had a contract to have Raw there in Denver, but because of the NBA playoffs (where the Lakers did sweep the Nuggets I think) the nuggets had home court that night & weren’t willing to move to another night. WWE initially reacted brilliantly with just having the show in LA. The pettiness was too much though.

David Shultz wasn't "method acting". It was called "protecting the business". And "The boys" thanked him for slapping the piss out of Stossel. I don't really accept the Paul London's career being killed here. I don't really get how a person who had a lot left out in the independent scene couldn't really get work after. He was a big indy star when he got signed. He had a lot of opportunity to pick things back up. The fact that ROH or TNA never picked him back up suggest there was something else wrong. He didn't retire after all.
@stingersplash2 жыл бұрын
I'd also argue that Madusa and Ken Anderson still had decent runs outside WWE after.

I’d consider your not to wrong regarding Mr Anderson I enjoyed a lot of his promo work in TNA And he had some decent matches there too Especially the specialty matches since he was kinda average in the ring Like his triple threat cage match with Sting and RVD
@erikstensaas12022 жыл бұрын
I think what Alundra Blayze did to the Women's Championship was great because that title to the WWF was completely worthless by that point, and kind of stayed worthless until after the Attitude Era
@arashitendou59412 жыл бұрын
Your not wrong I mean I DISTINCTLY recall watch an old PPV DVD of my buddy’s from that era that had that belt as a freakin filler/breather “match” after the tag team title match and another big match And it was just a UNDERWEAR MODELING match As in the winner got it via fan cheers for the woman best modeling her bra and pantries in the ring Really?! It’s why I’m GLAD I wasn’t truly apart of the Attitude Era fan base even though I was born in 1990 Crap like that makes me feel embarrassed Like those people that hooted and cheered for Trish stripping and barking for Vince Ugh🙄
@KairiPrime Жыл бұрын
Actually in Alundra's time, women's wrestling was taken more seriously. No really, look up the difference between women's wrestling in the late 80s early 90 and the late 90s. In fact it was after her stunt of trashing the women's belt that WWF killed their entire women's division. No really there wouldn't even be a women's division again until 98 and the trashing of the belt happened in 95. And even then we would be deep in "Divas" where the wrestling was secondary to boobs and butts until the late 2010s. So that one act didn't just kill Alundra's career, it killed women's wrestling, in the WWE at least, for nearly two decades.

Well, while not an on camera moment, CHYNA effectively ended her wrestling career upon asking for Stone Cold money for her new contract. Jim Ross has stated that wwe were willing to pay The Ninth Wonder Of The World $600 thousand a year, likely making her the highest paid woman in pro wrestling to that point. However she was insistent that she be paid the tidy sum of $1 million a year, to be put on par with the likes of The Rock and Steve Austin. Negotiations between the two parties broke down and CHYNA was gone soon after that year's Wrestlemania. I still think that at least part of her motivation for the high pay was to get paid for steph and hhh getting together. Or she really didn't want to be there anymore, knowing that she'd likely have to see them from time to time.

The Bart Gunn one is also a notable two-fer since by winning the shoot fight against Steve Williams, that also killed Steve Williams' WWE career dead in an instant. The Brawl for All was effectively designed for Dr Death to win as the first step of his main event push to an Austin feud and when he lost to Bart in the semi-finals that was that, no more Dr Death. edit: Also feel like Perry Saturn 100% should be on here too. Going way too hard on a jobber and then getting saddled with Moppy as a consequence didn't just kill his career going forward, it effectively nullified all of his past work too. Ain't no one gonna think about technical master Perry Saturn ever again after seeing a sad boy in love with a mop.

Good list, but Madusa and Mr Anderson don't really belong on it. Anderson spent a long while near the top of TNA, and the WWE literally didn't have anything for Madusa to do which is a big chunk of why she left. Also, she did fine in WCW and then was a very successful monster truck driver (perhaps still is, she seems semi-retired at this point). So I guess if it's 'killed your WWE career' then sure, but otherwise they're not really relevant to this list.
