your question regarding napkins on the bottles of beers in the philippines:--- i was born in manila in the 1960s before moving to canada as a kid. My only theory is to keep them clean from flies [when i was a kid, there were definitely more flies every where and they land on speakable places then land on your cups, your glasses, or your drinks]. I think wrapping napkins on bottles is a throw-back from those unsanitary days? I'm not sure, but I think that's the reason.

check out the perfect cone shaped Mayon Volcano, Caramoan and calaguas islands in Bicol which are less touristy also. Tablas island in Romblon and Camiguin Island.
