I can not BELIEVE how much interest the cat shows in everything Jason is doing......watching Jason crank on the hatch! Amazing cat. I had to look up the cat to find out the breed....then I saw a rough old sailor mans face in the reef you were shooting......."Part of the ship...part of the crew" - Bootstrap

I think it's interesting that I had just returned from surfing Teahupo'o when I discovered your channel. You guys were still in the RV at the time and had passed within several miles of my Michigan home. I remember thinking 'You ain't seen nothing yet.' Well, it now appears that you've seen quite a bit. An interesting thing about that beach is it's only accessible from a boat OR by renting a four wheeler and riding many miles across cold volcanic flows. It's usually the destination of my vacations every other year in February. Congrats on your discoveries and growth. I look forward to your next adventures.

Jason, your editing is right on target. You caught Nikki under water slowly pushing herself along. Then you captured an old turtle slowing pushing itself along. A nice contrast between human and animal. Good job!

You ought to publish a 'how to make a video' and sell it to Utube so they can train some of their other folks how they should do it. Too many have bad pictures but more often and worse is sound levels, either too quite or TOO LOUD (made my point). Another thang they do is scenes like hammering a nail, OK we get it with the first bang, not the fifty that follow. As pros I bet you have your own issues on this. I edit a lot of still photos and it seems that most cameras average things out on exposure, washing out bright spots and leaving the shadows in the dark, most of my edits are undoing this and there is a lot of detail hidden in these areas, I'm sure that digital video editors can do the same magic.

That’s so cool! We were just there, at the end of the road, two weeks ago. We only had a day on Tahiti, so we rented a car and drove to the end of the road on both sides of the island, and also to the plateau in middle of Tahiti Iti. We loved visiting and snorkeling around French Polynesia so much we’re already planning a visit for next year, and we’re still on this trip (in Cusco Peru now to see Machu Picchu).

Some thoughts: 1) Nikki's sleepy voice is the *cutest*!! 2) If Nick ever wakes me up at 5:30 to CLEAN THE BOAT I... honestly don't know what I'd do. Nothing good. 3) That anchorage was so beautiful at sunrise though. 4) I miss you!! Okay, only 4 minutes in, I'll carry on watching now. 😘

Jason, I am hopping around your back catalog while I keep up on current videos and this one just struck me, for the excellent audio editing. You always do great cinematography and visual editing but also Thank you thank you for paying attention to the total level and keeping it actually level! So many KZbinrs make musical interludes SO LOUD and having to constantly adjust the volume is very annoying. When I didn’t have long Covid, I used to be a digital media college instructor and would faithfully lead my students to adjust audio levels so they are as even as possible and if I were still teaching, I would use this video as an example. ✊

I believe surf competitions are scheduled with extra days because they can't predict the weather or waves. And the flights cost more than days on location.
@VeganSurf5 жыл бұрын
Specifically, the dates announced for most WSL tour events are a window - the actual surfing happens whenever the best swell is during that window and may be either spread out or compressed into a small amount of time based on the specific forecast and waves during the event. An event may even be surfed entirely on 1 day if that is the only surfable day during the window...

Not sure if anyone has ever asked but because you previously spent so many years in an RV can you compare the amount of work needed for each lifestyle? Like, as far as maintenance goes which required more work and which do you feel had the better “payoff” for that work?
