In the mid 80s yes. Dave Krieg wasn't that bad as the Boz brought a buzz to Seattle. In the 90s ... No. Seattle didn't have sold out seats back than at the Kingdome when Dan McGwire and Rick Mirer were Seattle's AWFUL qbs. Don't get me wrong. Seattle's fanbase was supportive through obscurity in the 90s as Warren Moon gave us Seahawks fans some glimpse of hope as John Kitna generated some success with Seattle. Chris Warren was one of my favorite running backs during the 90s. I know who Curt Warner is but I rarely watched him play. It's completely ignorant to call an entire fanbase of Seattle "bandwagoners." . I never expected to Seattle to be a good team in "12" when Seattle has four consecutive losing seasons as Seattle was doing their best during Holmgren's last season as a coach back in '08 ... I can go on. Seattle also had a hype season back in '01 when Holmgren was head strong starting Trent Dilfer only because Dilfer was associated with a Superbowl winning team with Baltimore as I vividly remember READING a magazine pertaining to Seattle's hype when Seattle was playing at Washington Huskies stadium. We almost made the playoffs that year and was depending on the Ravens to beat the Chiefs.

As a Seahawks fan who lives in WA, I'll admit there are a good amount of bandwagon fans. But there are also a ton of Hawks fans who've loved them and rooted for the Hawks their whole life. I watch Hawks games every Sunday with the same 15 to 20 people I've watched the games with for 15 years. Most of the bandwagon people I've seen are girlfriends and wives that like to dress up and get together for the social aspect. The Seahawks 12th man was around way before just 2012.

Why do people call Seattle's fanbase "bandwagoners?". I don't get it? Wasn't Seattle a decent team under Mike Holmgren? Seattle's fanbase always existed and to generalize an entire fanbase,because of recent success is absurd. I vividly remember watching Seattle suffer during the Tom Flores and Dennis Erickson era when Seattle was in the AFC West in the 90s when Dan McGwire,John Frisez and Rick Mirer were Seattle's AWFUL qbs when Seattle used to play the old NFC West with Atlanta,Saints,49ers,Rams and Cardinals in the preseason. I know I'm not being imaginative when I first watched Seattle lose vs Marino and the Dolphins when Kitna was Seattle's qb at the Kingdome in the wildcard game and that was my first time watching Seattle in the post-season back in '99 when Seattle was in the AFC West. I don't get it? Not all of us are "bandwagoners." We do exist and it's unfortunate social media didn't exist when Seattle was in the AFC West and at Washington Huskies stadium when Kitna and Dilfer were Seattle's qbs before Hasselbeck was named the starter. I mean. I remember the '01 season because Holmgren was head strong starting Trent Dilfer only because Dilfer was associated with a Superbowl winning team with Baltimore as I read a magazine pertaining to Seattle's hype. No one EVER labeled me being a "bandwagoner" when Seattle was trash in the 90s as I wore my Boz jersey #55. Seattle started to pick up the pieces with Shawn Springs and Joey Galloway and I bought Galloway's jersey #84 back in '98 as Seattle wore their royal blue jersies with the original Seahawks logo on the side of the jersey. Even when Seattle won the West with a 7-9 record to beat the defending Superbowl Champs aka the Saints at Qwest in '10 when Charlie Whitehurst replaced Hasselbeck vs Rams when both teams were 6-9 at the time. I honestly don't understand where this is coming from? When Seattle was struggling from '08-'11 ... I wore my Shaun Alexander jersey #37 with pride and no one gave me a label that I've had since '04 when my older brother bought me that jersey when I was in the hospital.
