Great simple to the pt an accurate tutorial! Tho Yamaha recommends much less than 6mos on oil changes. I go 15hrs w/semi-synthetic 10w40 yamalube or Maxima oils. 20hrs w/ full synthetic Mobil 1 4T racing 10w40. Only OEM or K&N filters.

Hey jhon what would cause a 2020YFZ450R to idle for 5 second and then it shuts off but as long as you give it gas you can ride it but it want idle for only like 5 seconds then it shuts off what would cause this

what size is your drain bolt? 14mm head and 12mm bolt?? or 16mm head and 14mm bolt?

also per your comment, definitely sounds like you are not getting fuel. I would check your filter and check your lines to make sure it's flowing through

Is the torque wrench a 1/2 inch drive or a 3/8 inch drive? Also what model is that

I put 1 quart in the reservoir and half in the case. Making sure I did it right before I ride it. Please let me know asap

I went to my local Yamaha dealer for a filter and oil. And he mentioned to warm it up before checking the oil. This doesn’t make sense to me. Any motor Ive ever changed oil on you want it cold. So the oil is in the crank case.

Oil change should be every 8-10 hours not 160 hours lol. If you wait 160 hours then your machine is definitely clapped.

The manual states 160 hours. No one waits that long, but again, we follow the recommendations of the manufacturers for these videos. I generally change the oil every 3-4 big riding trips. 6 months, if I do little ones. Better to play it on the safe side.

@@Godaboveall24_7 I run 10w40 in mine as well, 99% sure that's what It calls for. If I'm not mistaken it manual says 1.8qt in oil cooler and .2qt in the case (it's actually 1.98qt total if you want to be specific) but even if your off a little it should "self correct" the levels. Also if your quad doesn't have the oil mod (didn't start til 07) I HIGHLY reccomend doing so, relatively inexpensive and will greatly help against scattering your motor. Good luck! Be safe...

Sounds a little lean to me, I know they are lean at idle but the popping on deceleration means it’s lean
