I am on SOWP my wife in Study permit finished 1 year of education and applied for 2nd year study permit extension she has done environmental control course as comes under science background and next year she doing project management I am waiting on her study permit to approve so then I will apply my SOWP extension based on her study permit approval. This rules of no SOWP for college graduates will apply to us when next year she will apply her PGWP and I’ll apply my extension of SOWP. For 1 year masters program spousal open work permit will not be allowed except the masters program of the tenure 16 months and above. My question is as I have already enrolled in my one years masters program in organizational Management at Crandall University for January 2025 intake got necessary study permit and visa earlier to this changes announced. In such cases shall it be applicable to my spouse? My 2nd question is will my only kid below 18 year be able to come and eligible for free education? Mentionable, in recent changes there was nothing mentioned regarding kids free education except spousal open work permit restriction for those enrolled in one year masters program. The employer in Canada will first have to get a LMIA, then make an employment offer to you, only then can you apply for a Work Permit. With the new policy in place, it is nearly impossible to find an employer who will get a LMIA, unless your skills are in high demand.
