This is first time I am discovering this rare similarity between Maharashtra Cuisine and Tamil Nadu. I was indeed amazed to find Puran Boli at Trichy Railway station canteen a packet of it. After a Rice-full trip it was such a sweet good break. This Puran Poli or Parappu poli found its way from Deccan in Reign of Bhosale Marathas in Thanjavur Trichy area
