Hi James, A couple things I’d like to mention. 1st a snap test can come back as a false positive depending on when the breeder administered the first Parvo vaccine and when you picked your puppy up. 2nd- many people fly or drive a long way to pick up a puppy. Never ever put them down outside the airport to potty or at a rest stop, fast food parking lot etc. puppy owners need to use potty pads and have them go in their crate to potty etc. sure fire way to contract parvo is by stopping at these places on your way home. Love the video, great info! Sadly I picked up a puppy many years ago from a shelter and on the 3 hr car ride home on my daughters lap I realized it was already dying of parvo 1/2 way into the trip home. You’re correct, once you smell the feces you’ll always be able to detect it forever!

Just went through this, litter of 9 English bulldog puppies. All sterile precautions taken at home In pup environment. Took to vet for shots, ONLY time they have exited the pup room (and were In a carrier) pups went home within 24 to 48 hours 6 of my families contacted me with begining symptoms. Luckily all went to vet and have survived, early detection is truly the key. A very costly lesson, though I have always brought mine to the vet for their shots and a check up, I am now going to do them at home. Thank you for your videos, seems you always have a video for what I'm looking for!!

Nasty virus. Almost lost my girl to this when she was 7 weeks, she spent the first week I had her hospitalized. I will always remember that smell. She actually showed up negative on the regular parvo test. The vet had to swab her mouth and rectum and that ended up coming back positive.

For the bleach in the yard is it diluted or straight bleach? Can it hurt the dogs if they touch it how to keep them safe and spray yard also?

Alas, I can’t see the vet letting a patient or customer leave the office with any type of medicine as I’m sure they would say that you need a license to apply it. If this is the case, what can someone do to get access to the medicine?

Vets give medicine out all the time You don’t visit the vet every Time your dog needs a tablet you get the whole bottle

The vets in Illinois either are very conservative or prefer to give you just enough medicine to ensure that you have to come back within a weeks time to finish the treatment lol I’ve never been given a bottle, although it sure would be nice. Perhaps it’s time to shop around for a new veterinarian. Thanks

I have heard marvelous things on the neopar vaccine for puppy’s to treat against parvo and you can use it as early as 42 days old. What are your thoughts?

Get a genetics test I recommend animal genetics and for your dog to be a platinum it would have to be dd (blue) bb (testable chocolate) and we (cream) if the test shows all three your dog would be a platinum.

10 to 1 minute 10 times water one part bleach
