Magnifique Vigier, Pascal !! Concernant le morceau, c'est top, merci pour ce moment.

I'm guessing you've heard of this man & since I was looking into Vigeir Bass Guitars this particular bass guitar had a KZbin link attached to it but it was one of those one's that don't show up in my History Page & I had to find it & I'm glad to have finally found it... Quite a couple of different effects on his Vigeir but it still happens to get the notes through the effects... I've tried to share the KZbin Channel of him playing , I'm guessing , 1 of his instrumentals but when I hit Share on KZbin it looks like a KZbin link via using it as Text but when copy & paste the link i send to you , it's just stating the brand of the bass/his name & it was recorded in 2022 I'll try again later , as I enjoyed some of the effects he used as they didn't overdo it on the strings but instead you could still hear the strings adding themselves to make it a great demo... A lot of times notes can get lost when finding the correct money shot level & some don't do it enough & of course some over do it but this sounded one of the better one's I've seen lately... " Enjoy your Live Gig Tonight " .....

The Electric Bass Guitar has come a long way since its humble beginnings & though us bassist's have always known this: " The Bass Is Sexy As Hell " & can compete, if we so wish, with any instrument within a band but we don't like to or feel we need to be show offs all the time... Just laying down a groove which is spot on tight in the pocket will get you there every time... In light of the still ongoing coronavirus stay safe and healthy where ever you are, fellow bass guitar lover's... All The Best... Sláinte Alba .....

Interesting right hand technique, especially the fingerstyle. Maybe it's deceptive, but he looks like he's barely tickling the strings, Steve Harris style. Makes me think about re-evaluating my own technique, which has always been rather more aggressive.
@Beardwhip4 жыл бұрын
I think having low action & a really fluid economy of motion is key to having the finger tapping slap style work well. Certainly inspiring technique. Incredibley difficult with any sort of higher action
@greatwhite619674 жыл бұрын
Yeah you need a low action set up & perfect intonation if you want to do finger tapping style... Though I know a few bassists who can do it with 45 To 105 but anything higher & your not going to go far... 40 To 100 (or lower if you prefer) will get you doing solo's like a lead guitarist's... It really depends on what overall style your going for!... As I have some of my basses set up with 45 To 105/40 To 100 & 30 To 90 & I'll use them for various styles but if I'm going to do what's in this upload it'd have to go for 40 To 100 or somewhere in-between the latter & 30 To 90... Though I find 30 To 90 the easiest but you need to make sure you have complete control of your bass as at those light gauge of strings you've got a lot of room for fret buzz if you don't set it up properly or in your playing... If you think 30 To 90 Is very light have a look a bassist Michael Manring on his Hyper Zon Bass & his G is a 20 Gauge, but he had that bass specifically built for multiple drop down & back up tuning, myself I'd stick with the 30 To 90 as 20 is just too light for me... But in the end it's all about individuality so do what you think is right for you as there is no such thing as the perfect gauge for all bassist's... In light of the still ongoing coronavirus stay safe and healthy where ever you are in the world... .....

I have been predominantly using Rotosounds for years with the occasional stray to other brands but recently I put my hand in my pocket and bought some DR High Beams. You just have to touch the things and they ring like a piano note, i wonder if that could be part of Pascal's arsenal? I play a Vintage Gibson with a Humbucker so I'm not in the P or J bass sound arena to begin with but I'm having to really adjust my playing as I'm being far too aggressive with them, I've bought a set of Lo-Riders to go on my Stingray too but I haven't fitted those yet but speaking as someone who doesn't like spending money I can truly say that the DR'S are worth every extra shekel.

Always get your $ worth from Pacal. Lol. No two min ditty. He just brings it and keeps on bringing it until he feels like it’s all been brought.
This kept me busy during the entire video trying to figure out what I was hearing and where the bass was. Synthesized sounds, all over the place, constantly changing. Is that him or the backing track? O, he changed effects... again. A clicking sound. I see his fingers move so that fast half-defined series of notes must have been him. It made no sense whatsoever and was annoying as hell because I suspect it was interesting but I could not make heads or tails of it because of all the synthy fuzz.22
@Crodon4 жыл бұрын
This happens with most virtuoso players, they end up doing WAY too much and end up with something that isn’t “musically” at all
@MartinMaat4 жыл бұрын
@@Crodon I am not so sure in this case he is doing too much, I don't mind musicians showing off their abilities. The production is just horrible though, it sounds like he just went through all the presets of his effects processor. Someone please take away this guy's toys and lock him up with an acoustic instrument. Then I would be interested to hear him play.

Personally, I don't know why bassists go for this eq setting. Even with good headphones, I can't tell what notes are being played. Obviously he plays good, but I can't hear WHAT he's playing.
