Hey, what's up with your travel "camp" that you had the survey for that will be partially funded? I was interested in it, but nothing came up since.

@@iammz81 Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, the company wasn't flexible enough to let me design the trip as needed to make it something special. So I didn't end up working with them. It will take a bit but a trip is coming. I build one myself now.

1:45 "shooting intentionally" I have a great example of this. I was a professional artist/ painter for 11 years. We painted photorealistic paintings that sold for millions of dollars and hung in some very large museums and sold to "famous" collectors. I was one of the painters who worked there. All the painters were very skilled. But we had somebody who worked on the computers who was passionate about art/painting but didn't really build up his technique or craft. He shifted away from painting, because it's very craft oriented and very difficult, and instead he spent about $30,000 on expensive camera equipment. He then went to the zoo to photograph animals with one of our painter co-workers who only had a cheaper $1,000 camera. The one with the expensive camera who didn't think like an artist just started shooting randomly. He took a thousand photos and just hoped one of them would turn out well. Yet the talented painter had way better photos. And it's not because he understood exposure or f stops or whatever. In fact, I'll guarantee the computer guy understood the f stops and shutter speeds way better than the painter. But the painter had far better images because he knew what he was going for and knew how to frame the image, knew what lighting looks good, and knew how to tell a story with an image.

That depends on the situation. For tracking people or something else use wide and when it’s not so clear for the camera what to focus on, use the zones/points.

Great video! Lots of useful info. I do think you shouldn't get a cheap tripod. I don't think anyone should put their expensive gear on a potentially risky tripod. I've used cheap tripods before and I'm always scared of it falling and breaking my camera/lens. I'd recommend to save the money to get a better tripod like Manfrotto, which I use nowadays. Reply

One question fast to answer: for all the walking by shots you need a tripod to film yourself. Which tripod do you use? It should very light to travel around but sturdy enough to give a stable shot. What do you use?

I use the PeakDesign Travel Tripod Carbon., It's quite expensive tough. Sirui also has a similar but cheaper one that looks good but I didn't test it.

Why do I need grey card for white balance and not white card? Thank you!
@pascalbasel Жыл бұрын
White needs to be exposed quite bright, what could lead to issues with the white balance I guess. So a darker neutral color, such as middle grey works better.
