thanks for the video. I'm a beginner and film with Sony A6700 + Sigma 16mm 1.4f and am thinking about buying the Tamron 17-70mm 2.8f for standard zoom, what do you think of it? I also find my videos a bit blurry. I have already dealt with posture and slow motion. However, is it normal that the recordings are a bit shaky and you only get it smooth after editing or is it more just me? thanks in advance
@pascalbasel23 сағат бұрын
It’s a great lens. I used it a lot on Fujifilm cameras. A bit of shake happens easily. Just correct it in post.
@haiyendoanm16 сағат бұрын
@ thank you for your answer. Does it make sense to use ibis and lens stabilization at the same time ? Or is it rather bad ? Since I’m thinking between the sigma 18-50mm and tamron 17-70mm, thank again in advance !

@ yes together means even better stabilization.

Hello, can you explain why the moment you switch from SDR to HDR color management everything gets darker? You can clearly see this in the scopes, and in some scenes you get completely black and crushed shadow areas that were CLEARLY visible under SDR color management. To offset this, I find you usually need to increase exposure by +0.7-0.85 stops, which in turn often leads to highlights getting overexposed and over 1000 nits. I'm at my wits end with this, and I can't find any explanation for this whatsoever. I've tried both on MacBook Pro with Apple HDR display and PC with "proper" MiniLED HDR display. I get the same result, and without increasing the exposure, everything looks too dark.
@pascalbaselКүн бұрын
Do you color grade in the dark? Is your screen set up correctly in reference mode? If not, try that and don’t expect an SDR grade to work for HDR.
@Arseny.PetukhovКүн бұрын
@ it is set up correctly. Both on Mac and PC. The image gets darker based on scopes the moment you switch from any SDR to any HDR color management option, I have tried them all. I’ve been shooting professionally for 9 years, I’m quite positive I’m doing everything by the book, yet I can’t find any explanation for this behavior anywhere.

Excellent video! I don't understand, sometimes I create a new project, I change the color management as in the video and there I see Input color space and on other projects I do the same but it doesn't appear! Any ideas? Thanks

hey! @pascalbasel3 күн бұрын
Hard to say without further information. Check that "Use Mac Display Color Profiles for Viewers" is turned on under general settings and that all color management is set up correctly and that you switch your screens reference mode to HDR as shown in this video and that you color grade in a nearly dark room.

Those are the videos of yours that I enjoy watching the most :) Seeing you having fun doing what you love, it motivates me so much to take my next fly already. Love it. I see so many Fujifilm footage that I like so much. I bought the Lumix GH7 where you can create and burn in your own LUT's. And I really tried to create a similar look as from some of your footage but it doesn't come even close 😅. I'm aiming to go to Brasil anytime soon where the vegetation is similar to yours. My dream come true would be the AMAZON rainforest 😍

Hello Pascal hope you're doing well :). I have a question that has nothing to do with the iPhone but a new pro camera that I bought. I don't know if it's a camera issue or a user error. When I'm out filming in daytime in 60p and slowed down in post, I get flickering in the footage as soon I start moving the camera. Even by very slow movements. The whole image just starts flickering. I'm not using any ND filters. So my shutter speed is high. I still couldn't figure out why that happens. Have you ever experienced something like that?
@pascalbasel4 күн бұрын
Ic it flickers around the edges of things, it might be over-sharpened footage.
@RelaxingTravelVideos-RTV4 күн бұрын
@@pascalbasel amazing thank you so much Pascal. It's true! I sharped the footage in FCPX. I made a test without sharpening and the flickering is gone 😃 Thank you so so much

I do wish Blackmagic developed an Apple Watch App. Using the iPhone's built-in camera app, there's a companion Apple Watch Camera Remote app that allows me to check my positioning and trigger record. BTW even Apple's new Final Cut Camera lacks the Apple Watch app though.

Footage on top is xm5 and on bottom is A9iii. The FF DOF gives it away 👌
@pascalbasel6 күн бұрын
Opposite, DOF is shallower there as the Fuji is at 27mm F1.2 (40mm F1.8 FF eqiv.) vs 35mm F1.8 on the Sony. The 5mm make it slightly shallower.

Tamron 11-20mm or Viltrox 13mm 1.4 for vlogging and 27mm F1.2 for B-Roll. Especially the 27mm is just beautiful.
