The Filipinos still need a lot of education on how to not dump garbage in any bodies of water. I can still see some plastic and glass bottles, and other forms,of garbage floating in the water. While the people are not completely disciplined on how to take care of the environment, Pasig river and other bodies of water in the Philippines will never completely recover. ❤️🇵🇭❤️

During the Marcos era, the filipinos were very deciplined, also there was a home project for the poor nationwide, the BLISS housing so no squatters. But after Cory Aquino grabbed power, the Philippines gradually slide down to its sorry state. After more than 30 yrs., the Duterte administration slowly but surely improve and develop the country to revert back to its former glory!

Considering that you are in the middle of this vast metropolis, the Pasig river is surprisingly quiet. The lilies and rubbish certainly needs attention, but that ferry is already on my to do list when able to return to the Philippines. Thank you for such an informative video.

Indonesian here. Wow, never knew Manila has a descent modern river ferry system. Pasig River is clean as well! There is no such this thing in Indonesia. Maybe the government need to add its exposure/promotion and connectivity to nearby LRT-1 and MRT stations. I imagine it would be just like Bangkok 😍

These days when we go home we either fly to Clark, or get the hell out of Dodge in a taxi to Angeles City, but Manila these days is worth exploring again!

Yes! Thats what the Philippine Govt needs to do. Make Pasig and the areas where the tour will be happening very clean, pleasant to the eyes-so they need to take care of the building and houses that these tours will pass by. Train and make the people around Pasig part of the group that works so they will take care of the river more. They can even serve foods/snacks on some Ferry. This will make money for the Pasig and the country. Keep cleaning it!!

Wow. Thanks for this ferry tour of Pasig River. Guadalupe was our old town of residence. We used to ride the "banca" to cross Mandaluyong to visit my aunt. The water was a lot cleaner then. We left in 1969, returned in 2013 for a visit but was informed that the river had become unsightly and undesirable. It's nice to see the improvement! There's a lot of potential in Pasig river. It could be used not only for transportation but also for small recreation to boost tourism. Hopefully, there's a government program or some private entities that will support and maintain the project to increase the functionality and enhance the beauty of Pasig River.

I've only tried this once from Pasig to Escolta. Long trip, I think it was almost an hour one way, but I enjoyed it. Definitely worth a try if you are going to Manila area and want to avoid traffic. You can enjoy sight seeing.

Been there yesterday. From Pinagbuhatan to Escoltla. It was so good for the free round trip....it's organize the crews are taking care the passenger. Terminal is good. The toilet is clean. The ferry leave on time. Only thing that I could complain is the garbage its was so terrific specilly along Manila and I feel so sad and pity for the Pasig River. I was thinking and wishing that if there's few boats that could be use everyday to clean up that river I may be one to volunteer to clean. To the the people nearby on that river should have discipline not throwing garbage everywhere and strickly punished the offender.

They should have at least 15min-30min interval for each ferry. But I agree, this should be funded and promoted more. I remember there are several ferry boats (w/ AC before) and stations up until Marikina Riverbanks.

for me okay na ang tubig, what my concern about is yung sa gilid. sana iredecorate nila into like a park, more puno and flowers and chairs, tas mga lamp din. and repaint. Yung maganda tignan yung gaganahan kang mag jogging or maglakad lakad. laki ng potential ng pasig river kung mas pagandahin.

When I was in Manila, PI back in 1968, the Pasig River was BLACK and did it every stink very bad. I am glad it was cleaned up and better.

Maganda makita na unti unti na babawasan ang basura sa RIVER AT TULONG2X sa paglinis pero ang tubig ay ganon pa rin. May mga basura pa rin nakikita palutanglutang pa rin. These would be great if they can maintain their schedule on time and shorter wait. Which mean more ferry to this river route. It will take a long time for people to use them for their commute. Since the schedule are too far apart. The last time I tried it, the 2 stations I went to were closed and you can't get the right schedule online. A badly need maintenance of the river to clean up the water hyacinth and floating trash.

Hi! I talked to one of the passengers who regularly uses this ferry as his daily commute and according to him, during the pre-pandemic days, there were more ferry schedules and it was even close to every 30 minutes intervals. But yeah, I heard there are some stations that are closed especially in Pasig area. That's why I decided to start in Guadalupe since that could really be the main station.

It’s so disappointing to see the river is full of floating water hyacinths and what are the plans from the city officials to do about it.Maintenance seems to be the problem after it was cleared before and for us abroad were so happy to see that it is very good alternative route to reach destination easier away from the road traffic and it attracts tourism to thrive.

The private sector seems to be more active in cleaning the river such as SMC. Here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4rCep-VbceMm5o But compared to many years back, Pasig River improved a lot. The smell isn’t there anymore and it’s a lot cleaner now. Yes, they still have more work to do but I’m still glad that this could be a viable option for mass public transportation if they just promote this enough.

My wish came true! What was once a dead river is now a traffic-solution and tourist-friendly Pasig River ferry system. Hope more locals will patronize it the way the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok is utilized for commuting; same in Singapore, Istanbul, Paris, Venice, etc. where I rode the rush-hour ferry system hanggang abutan kmi ng gabi pabalik. And wish ko pag uwi ko marami ng promenades along the riverfront. Salamat for your video. Make also a vid of Bataan ferry so I would know what to expect.
