thanks for the resources. Passed with 80%. I just want to leave a comment here for others studying to take it...there were a bunch of questions on there that in my own study I had not come across & was not prepared for... make sure you know about: functions of a plane's rudder (what it does), know about aft & how weight in relation to it can influence the aircraft, hyperventilation, & shapes of clouds & what that means (rain cloud etc) nimbus clouds, lenticular cloud. Hope this helps others. I'd recommend studying the 'Remote Pilot Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide' by the FAA it is 88 pages (good stuff)

I took the test recently after watching several videos and taking several online practice tests. I would say the actual time I devoted to study was about 6 hours. Passed with a 90%+. Not a single question from the practice tests I took was in the actual test. The actual test was trickier with wording in my opinion; that or the practice tests I found online simply use slightly different language. It often left me a little uncertain about answers. There were also several questions I never saw covered in any depth in those videos and practice tests, or covered at all, resulting in me having to guess. (Almost certainly the bulk of those I got wrong.) That being said I was able, from using that material and doing my own research to fill in perceived gaps, to get a passing grade. Good luck. Edit: I came across at least one site that gave me a bogus low score on a practice test in an apparent effort to sell its test prep. Some also had grammatical errors and the questions and answers seemed dubious.

There was maybe 20 questions chart related and many questions on new info not even in FAA study guide like foreigner with drone ID and many other remote ID, new fly over people, weight category3 of drones questions. Questions on chart were different and some small airports based structures were hard to find. But having all the info helped!

I'm pretty sure 29 is (B), the Manufacturer. (A) the pilot in command, and (C) The owner or operator, is practically the same answer, leaving (B) as the outlier... My reasoning also stems from the manufacturer being responsible for determining performance information for small UA. Check the first paragraph here: Chapter 8: Determining the Performance of Small Unmanned Aircraft, Page 43 of FAA_PART107.PDF Open to discussion

This is a great tool. It's definitely helpful, so thank you. It's pretty obvious from these questions that the FAA just doesn't want people to get the license. Especially when they throw in gramatically incorrect vocabulary, like calling it "Low Density" Altitude vs. what they should have called it "Low Altitude" Density. It just seems like they intentionally reversed it so that you would get the answer wrong even if you fully understand that air density decreases with altitude and that would obviously have a negative impact on prop-efficiency.

42. Where must a small unmanned aircraft’s serial number be listed when using either standard remote identification or a broadcast module? A. The aircraft’s Document of Compliance. B. The manufacturer’s Method of Compliance. C. The Certificate of Aircraft Registration. Why is the air density counterintuitive?
@zxmusefabrication6134
@zxmusefabrication6134 11 ай бұрын
It's intuitive when viewing the concept from the angle of altitude/height rather than pressure. Considering most aircraft won't be flying at heights where they lose air pressure to a critical degree (such as space flight), air pressure doesn't play as much of a role in flying as altitude does. As such, the FAA bases the air pressure notation around altitude instead of pressure.

How long did you take to study and schedule the test ?
@markwison4286
@markwison4286 8 ай бұрын
@@Kreative-Introvert I studied for 7 days, but I have also been doing RC planes since 1986, so that helped. I had multiple choices for a test date. Took it at PSI. They have several locations here in AZ, so that made it fast. I brought my own basic calculator & magnifying glass, but they provided them for me.

High density air = thin and low density air = thick?? i'm not sure you know what density means... or maybe the FAA doesn't. if i'm wrong here, please eli5?
@theweddingdepartment
@theweddingdepartment Жыл бұрын
High density refers to air at a higher altitude which contain fewer molecules of air. And low density has more molecules, closer to the ground. This is the way the FAA sees it and so it's important to know what they mean and how they define air.

@@theweddingdepartmentas someone that is an engineer this is going to fuck me up because density in our terms means the amount of molecules in a given volume so high density means more molecules when it comes to engineering.

The wording of the phrase "High Density Altitude" is extremely confusing. The literal meaning of the phrase as written is that such an altitude (whatever that may be) IS "High (or low) Density"! After reading your answer, it sounds like to me the phrase would be better written, "The air density at a high Altitude vs one at a low Altitude." No wonder this test is so difficult to pass! (And that's only in the first few questions!) .....

Hello. His answer was right. It's even written in the National Archives Code of Federal Regulations. (i) The unmanned aircraft used in the operation must be equipped with a remote identification broadcast module that meets the requirements of § 89.320 and the serial number of the remote identification broadcast module must be listed on an FAA-accepted declaration of compliance.

Decent presentation however, you went too fast on several questions, granted not a class but a lot of times I had to keep going back to understand exactly what you meant. We all learn differently so what may be ok with some may not help others slow down a little and take a little more time breaking things down

One cannot depend on KZbin to study for 107. The FAA is hip to all this and to reliably pass, one must know all the material. There are multiple tests, each very different. The one I took was heavy on airspace. The one my friend took, very little on airspace.

Drone testing covering airspace floor/ceiling, tower freqs, etc is just stupid. Who cares, and HTF does it affect a drone flight in the USA??? 400ft max agl and get laanc approval (that will give you an alternate max agl in the approval text) in controlled space. Pretty damn simple. No need for all the other garbage. Hated when I got my sport pilot and had to learn VOR's and other such antiquated nonsense that sport pilots will certainly never use. Its like going to get your drivers license, and getting tested on backing up trailers and use of air brakes... Complete BS for the requirements/skills needed.
