The ALMARIYA, a ferry first introduced in 1981 as OLAU HOLLANDIA by the German shipping company Olau Line, has had a storied past. Built by AG "Weser" Seebeckwerft in Bremerhaven (Germany), it began operations between Sheerness and Vlissingen.
In August 1989, the ship was sold to Nordström & Thulin and rebranded as NORD GOTLANDIA for its subsidiary Gotlandslinjen. It operated between Visby and Nynäshamn or Oskarshamn until December 1997.
The vessel then became the NORDLANDIA, sold to Eckerö Line in December 1997. Operating between Helsinki and Tallinn, the ship had several incidents, including collisions and getting stuck in ice.
In June 2013, the ship was sold to the Isabella Cruise Company and renamed ISABELLA 1. It sailed under the Belize flag and was chartered by Acciona Trasmediterránea, operating between Almería and Nador.
Finally, in January 2016, Cia Trasmediterránea SA purchased the ship, renaming it ALMARIYA. Since then, it has been chartered by Trasmediterránea and is currently operating between southern Spain and North Africa.

Thanks for this great video with this great former OLAU ferry OLAU Hollandia-1. And on this video at 11:32 we see another former OLAU ferry. One of the two OLAU twins OLAU Hollandia-2 or OLAU Britannia-2.

hello im back sinces 5 days while i boarded the mega regina yesterday and it was awesome it also departed while in day at 8am from ajaccio and arrived in toulon in 6:45pm

you havent explored the top deck, there is located the premium seat class, but is a restricted area. I remember when the last summer i was travelling with my mum in this ferry from melilla to almeriya, she was in the cabins and during all the passage i was exploring, despite i already traveled 5 times in the same ferry when it was available for NADOR-ALMERIA, and i entered the engines room from a door located near a stairs.

its because in may there is not people who come from europe to melilla, but for all the summer this ferry is full of persons, there is no cabins available, no seats, the people sit in the restaurant an bar seats, families on the floor.

What is the amazing video! You've caught our attention for 42:02 minutes again! Honestly we were worried about the man with the dog, but finally the dog was staring on deck😊 Sometimes "Silent Hill", sometimes "Half life" and sometimes "GTA V". Hat jedes Schiff bei Wind. Merkt man bei vielen nur deshalb nicht, weil es z. B. durch eine Intering-Anlage mittels Krängungstanks ausgeglichen wird. Hier war das nicht der Fall und so ging es in leichter Schräglage Richtung Spanien 😀
