My mom’s been a teacher in Passaic for about 30 years and I used to live there as a kid. Went to Jefferson school #1. Things definitely go down in Passaic , it will force you to be tough. I’m appreciative of my time in Passaic, there is a lot of hard working people there , people who care about their families and their community. Passaic is one of the most diverse places I ever lived in and it shows in all the authentic local food spots. Passaic exposed me to many cultures at a young age and i feel like that’s helped me out a lot in life every where I’ve been. Passaic isn’t perfect but 4th most miserable city is a stretch 😂

Passaic is far from the 4th most miserable city in America. It isn't even the most miserable in N.J. Go to Newark, Trenton, Camden, Paterson, Atlantic City, Irvington, etc. and tell me how they compare to Passaic.

I am 3rd generation living in Passaic and it is a thriving, busy, multiethnic city. Did you think showing public housing developments would scare people into believing Passaic is miserable? Were there boarded up windows or did you see any graffiti or drug dealers on the corners? These are hard working blue collar folks from all over the world, and they take pride in where they are living. Back in the 1950s when I was a kid we sat on our stoops at night and conversed with the neighbors, one of them would arrive with a big bag of White Castle burgers to share, and I remember my mom showing us she could still ride a bike. As kids we learned enough Hungarian, Polish, Italian, and German to talk to the elders on the block. Nowadays that block houses people from Honduras, Puerto Rico, China, Poland, and Colombia. The music and aromas from cooking have changed but the neighborly and family feel is the same. I am not saying Passaic is perfect, there is some crime, traffic, and never enough parking, but it is home for good families and your video does it a great disservice and in my opinion is quite inaccurate and disrespectful.
