@@ArtOfClay thank you, I've been learning how to use a circular sock machine, called a Legare 400. So much fun, but I haven't been using the passap lately, I need to refresh my skills on that one. The Legare 400 is a lot of fun to use, but more learning to do, which is always good, right? Hope you get one, one of these days, so that we can watch you make your magic on it and show us how you do it.

Oh, I want one of these machines. They are very cool! I saw that there is a 3D version available, but... I watched a video of it, and I noticed that the plastic bends and the needles are sticking in all directions when making the short rows. I hope I can find a real metal one. I am constantly browsing through the local ads to check if there is something to buy. The Tricofit was a totally unexpected find. I was the first to see the ad and called the seller immediately. I missed one linker last year. That's why sometimes, I check the ads twice a day.

@@ArtOfClay Yeah, when something like this comes up, they are immediately scooped up, so you have to be right there and ready to buy. I bought mine from Dantib in Canada. At first, I had some trouble with the cams. They were not lifting the needles at the right time. Dantib was so helpful, he sent me a whole other machine, and he even paid the return shipping for the defective one. He even gave me $100 off the original price of the machine, because I didn't use EBay and he didn't have to pay them any fees. The machine wasn't cheap though. $1200 USD. Some people are gifted them, sometimes, lucky...... Yes, the 3D printed ones have some quirks. From what I understood, the Mr Roboto files on Thingiverse are supposed to be the best. I haven't tried to do it, though, as I had already bought the metal one. I hope you get a metal one, too.

Thank you for the useful information. I saw that the price for these machines is very high. For now, I will wait, and keep checking the ads. I will be happy with the metal one. I am not sure if I would be able to find needles and all the metal parts to make the 3D one. However, I will download the 3D files you told me about, just to have them handy. I know that there are several versions of this 3D-printed machine, but I haven't heard any feedback on the different files. Thank you!

Loved this Tricofit cast on , cast off device video. The voice tempo and pitch were just perfect. Your intro was lovely. I wonder if everyone recognized all the Christmas knits in this video from the instruction videos of the past. Easter eggs everywhere in this video. ;>)

great video as usual. I had luck to get a tricofit and a picto. Sure this video will help. Thanks :)

Thank you very much for your kind words! It's fantastic that you were able to get a Tricofit and a Picto. I had someone help me get the Picto carriage, and I find it to be a really useful tool, especially for knitting with novelty yarn or very thin thread-like yarn. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with both gadgets.

Hello I thank you for this excellent video. I bought a Passap machine and the Tricofit came with it. It moves but not fluidly and it skips stitches. Would you know how to lubricate and adjust it ?
@ArtOfClay10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words about the videos, I'm glad you found them helpful! Congrats on buying a Passap; they are amazing machines! Regarding the Tricofit, I used a paintbrush to apply oil on the moving parts inside. Check if it moves along the machine without having any yarn. If the problem occurs only when you have knitting on the machine, try to knit the last row with a looser stitch size, and also make sure there is not much tension on the yarn that comes from the eyelet. For the Tricofit to work smoothly, you can even hold the yarn manually since it doesn't like a lot of tension.

Thanks for this video that I watched a few times and now that I have one tricofit, that makes more sense. However, I have to cast off part of the stitches starting from left. If I want to use the tricofit, how would you proceed? Transfer the stitches to the back bed and then cast off? I can do by hand but I think that it would look better with the tricofit. Thanks for your input.

I'm glad to hear that the video was helpful and that you're getting the hang of using the Tricofit! You may transfer the stitches to the back bed and use the Tricofit device to cast them off, but you can also start casting off the stitches from the center of the knitting on the front bed and cast off all stitches to the left, or as many as you want. Let's say you want to cast off 20 stitches to the left of the center. Thread the Tricofit with the same color yarn as the knitting and wrap the end around the 2nd needle to the right. Put the Tricofit on the bed and align the decker needle with the 1st needle to the right of the center. Then rotate the crank until the row counter gets to 20, or until all of the needed stitches are cast off. It will start casting off from the 1st needle to the left. After the cast-off is done, you can remove the wrapped yarn around the 2nd needle to the right. The rule is to wrap the yarn tail 2 needles to the right and to alight the decker needle 1 needle to the right of the 1st stitch to be cast off.

@ArtOfClay Жыл бұрын
__ Yes, you can make cast-on and cast-off on the back bed of the machine. You have to start with the carriage on the right side, since the device will move from left to right when it is on the back bed.

Your film looked very nice and workable, so I also bought a tricofit: it seemed very efficient to me. But it doesn't work for me again, I don't get a chain stitch, but only a thread that goes over all the needles. Then I tried again and again, with your video and the manual, but always the same result. What do you think could be the problem?
@ArtOfClay8 ай бұрын
I'm glad to hear you find the video helpful. I can think of several reasons why this might be happening. Is the yarn from the eyelet going under the decker needle on the Tricofit? Make sure the release lever is set to "0". Also, before starting to rotate the crank, ensure that the latches of the first few needles are open. Put a small weight on the yarn tail. It will help the Tricofit to start knitting. Additionally, rotate the crank very slowly for the first few stitches. Look at the needles through the hole and ensure that when the needles are raising, the yarn stays below the latches. You may need to bring the yarn down for the first stitches. These are all the suggestions that come to mind at the moment. Please let me know if any of these suggestions help, and if they can resolve the problem.

After several attempts with different types of wool, a few stitches were knitted, but I ended up with the same thing every time. Maybe I will only use the tricofit to cast off, but I haven't tried that yet. Hopefully that works.

@@lievevanderbiest9914 Thank you for the feedback, and I'm sorry to hear that the issue persists despite your efforts. It can indeed be frustrating to encounter the same problem repeatedly. Another suggestion I have is to check if the yarn coming from the mast has too much tension. It should be loose for the Tricofit to function properly. Additionally, ensure that the brush on the underside of the Tricofit is in good condition. The bristles of the brush help open the latches, facilitating the creation of new stitches. I'll continue to brainstorm other possible reasons for this issue and will share any additional insights I come across that could be of help.

Are Pfaff accessories all usable with Passap machines?
@ArtOfClay Жыл бұрын
It seems that the branding of these machines can vary based on sellers and regions. In my case, I have a Tricofit device with a Passap brand, and there's also a Pfaff sticker on it. So, all the accessories should be compatible.

@ArtOfClay Жыл бұрын
► kzbin.info/www/bejne/onXTaa13YpiMjcU Это видео подходит для Пассап С. ► kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXfTpod5l9WriqM
