Passat B5 FL xenon -- Problem with headlights - a solution of how to take out the lens from Passat

I invite you to watch a film showing how to disinstall the headlight lens from Passat B5 Fl xenon.
The reflection from the lens can be sent to us to renovate (sputter again), thanks to which the lamps regain their original qualities.

These bi-xenon B5.5 headlight are easy fix: - remove headlight - sand it in 3 steps - 2k clearcoat spray it in 2 layers - if the cap behind the xenon or the H7 bulb is broke replace it! (OEM number is on the part) - remove the xenon projector and disassemble it - find a company in your area who can "rechrome" the projector surfaces (do NOT use shitty paint or any chemical on it!!) - clean the glass lens and buy new H.I.D. bulbs (4300K is the best, producing highest amount of VISIBLE light) - the item at @1:35 is 95% broken or it will break during disassembly, causing light pattern vibration (annoying!) - 3D printed items are NOT okay instead of the original (@1:35) due to the excessive heat (it will melt and vibrate again) - order STC3398 which is nearly identical to the OEM item seen @1:35 and replace it Congrats to your brand new 15+ years old headlights

@@leenevin8451 You do not have to remove the polycarbonate front cover. You need to disassemble the unit from the back, just like in the video. Removing the screws of the STC3398 is a little bit tricky, but manageable from the back as well (I cut down the corresponding torx bit's head and welded it on a tiny metal rod. This way you can remove the 2 torx screws accessed via the backside of the headlight unit)
