Ah GpA - cars that made sounds which will live with you forever and the last time there was a connection between the rally cars and the cars we drove. In retrospect one of the golden eras of rallying and (for the spectator) infinitely more enjoyable than a current R5 car

Is it just me or do these cars look like they are running a tonne of boost? Thought they were supposed to be about 300hp but they look and sound like a lot more than that.

Well they are pretty light maybe around 1230kg at worst then the awd and amazing drive shaft and transmission oh and I do believe they all have more torque than they do horsepower

The air inlet restrictor was introduced in 1995, so wouldn't be surprised if the top cars had way over 300 at this point. But also, in conditions like that, every car does seem even more powerful than it is...

Delta had up to 360 bhp, if i remembered it right, they all were in a region of ~320. Actually they slide a lot because of open front diff, mechanical centre and rear, and not forget cars were driven to the absolute limit

Some group A cars before 95 was over 400bhp on 38mm restrictor... The "300bhp" and more recently "380bhp" numbers are just numbers, reality is always different. Just like the myth of 800bhp group b cars, but thats the other way around.
