Here's how to reset the passenger airbag off light. It should work on other Nissans, I found this method for a Nissan Titan. • Airbag warning light r...
I was working with my Headunit and unplugged the harness that connects to the Passenger Airbag Off Light. I turned on the power without plugging the harness back in and it tripped the sensor, not letting it turn off. If you take the vehicle to Nissan, they will charge you a diagnostic fee as well a fee to reset the sensor. Could cost you upwards of $100. Resetting this takes less than 30 seconds.
You will see a flashing airbag light in the instrument cluster panel where all of your gauges are.
When you first turn the car on the airbag light in the instrument panel will stay solid for 7 seconds then start flashing.
As soon as it starts flashing immediately turn the car off.
Wait 5 seconds.
Turn car back on and watch for the passenger airbag light to start flashing again. (The light in the instrument panel).
Repeat that process three times altogether.
The fourth time you turn your car on the light will be reset!! No trip to the dealer necessary!! Hope this helped you guys!!!

I've had this issue for months with my 2012 Nissan Rogue. Was at my Nissan dealer and it was going to cost me $169 just to run a diagnostic -- but they were short-staffed and didn't have anyone who could perform the diagnostic. Awesome! Worked for me on my 2010 Nissan Rogue. So thankful I found this. For those wondering if your sensor is working you can lean over and push down with your hand on the passenger seat. Hold for a few secs. The light in front of the gear shifter should come on. Lift your hand off the seat and after a few secs the light should go back off. This will let you know that your sensor is working. The light will come on if there is weight in the seat that is less than 115 lbs. I do not know if the car needs to be in drive or not for the light to come on.

I did it right along with you, and my car reacted exactly as you said it would, and right along with your guiding. And when you said it should be blinking slowly, it was, and as soon as you said it should be off, it was! You just saved me a trip back to the dealer!!!

Bought my dads 2013 Nissan Frontier! Same issue. I was paranoid if we got into a wreck with my wife in the passenger seat the airbag wouldn’t go off and was about to go to auto zone to get a new sensor or something. This fixed it! Thank you so much!

I had to remove and reinstall the front passenger seat which caused this light to come on. I had found the directions to fix the problem with chapGPT but it wasn't crystal clear on when to turn the switch and when to start counting. Awesome worked on my 2005 Pathfinder! You explain the process well. I watched another video about the same thing and he didn't explain, that as soon as it flashes you have to turn it off or the car will never go into the diagnostic/ reset mode. Thanks again

If tire light is flashing means you need atleast one new tire valve sensor. They expensive I would just ignore it. Lol

Thanks so much.. i had a similar problem occuring in my 2006 xterra. It had been going on for the past 6 months. I took it to two nissan dealerships trying to find solution. They ran tests and came back with a bunch of codes. I was told by both dealerships there was no way to reset the sensor in the 2006 models. I would have to replace the seat for approx $2300! I wanted to try and sell it, but the safety light issue was a real deal breaker. Not anymore! Thanks again.

Daniella Yelo as long as everything is actually plugged in and physically tapered with then they should still work. When I did this I had unplug the wire and turned the car back on and forgot which triggered the warning.
