It does sound like she could be speaking about her relationship with Jesus. I feel the same when I listened to all of the lyrics. The first time I heard this song, I imagined the godly husband that God has for me in the future and allowing this godly husband to take the lead and be the head and me submitting in a godly way to my husband, but never putting him before God. I also imagined my husband submitting as the head to God and this godly husband navigating me in the right direction in our marriage with him.
