I wonder if David knew that just another ordinary face in the crowd that talked to him for a few minutes immortalised and graced him with a song that told the world of his life.

This song makes me sad. I believe there are many Davids out there. People who drink a lot but not alcoholics. People who have various reasons to be unhappy but not enough for others to help them. People who are not homeless but still not having a home. People who are sitting on very bottom of the society while still not being outcasts. People who survive and not living, people who have no hope because they lost illusions and dreams. And there is no help for this sort of people. They are not criminals or bad yet their closest ones hate them anyway. Society helping mentally ill, homeless, imigrants and gods know who else but nobody cares or helps people who earn just enough to pay tax, rent and child support, leaving almost nothing for themselves. This society can be fucked up sometimes.

I met a 'David' barely 2 years ago. He left Ghana to teach in Nigeria for 40 years and never came back home till 2017. He doesn't drink nor smoke, but he came back with nothing. His only daughter is now in her mid 40's. She never called. He died 2 weeks ago and since he has no family to bury him, I did. Five years ago, I was touched by this song...I didn't know my 'David' will come along in a few years

Oh Mike, this has been one of my favourite songs of yours for years. I've been longing for a studio version since forever, but I was always so afraid it wouldn't match up to all the times I've seen you perform it live. The rawness and heart-felt emotion. I have no idea why I was afraid. This is perfect, I was in tears before I even heard your voice. You amaze me. Thank you.

Davis isn't an exception, but part of an ever-growing group of man and woman who are in the twilight of being and who have given up on truly living. There's always a story of woe to be found there. There is always the hope for redemption, but more often than not, the redemption is not wanted. Some hearts are just to broken to be mended. Lament those wanderers, listen to their tales and give them a sparkle of hope to scare away the dark. Wonderful song, about a sad subject. Mike, you are a poet and an artist that has no equal in this time and place. Thank you

I "found" Passenger in the middle of this year. I did beleive that there was no more great singer- songwriter that can struck a chord in the heart of the younger generation. But, I'm SO PROFOUND HAPPY to call me a big Passenger fan. His talent is aside Dylan, Cohen and James Taylor. Subtile, strong, powerful lyrics with a uniqe voice and the future in his hand. At this point I think 'David' is Passengers bests songs ever, together with my favorites 'Scare Away The Dark', 'Home' and 'Things that stop you dreaming'. I'm very happy to soon be 50 years old and have the opportunity to follow Passenger in his struggle to get back great music to the world. In fact, I'm profound touched by Mike, his songs, guitar and unique och lovely voice. There is still hope for good music - and not that crap that X-Factor produces

I'm David. 52. Was once a 6'6 ADONIS. From 15 to 40, any woman I wanted, traveled when and where I wanted, made amazing money, and spent it all in the moment. Passed up the good women fir the young new and new. Now, 52, kidney failure, cancer, and completely alone. The 20 inch arms are down to 12, on disability in a 1 room studio. Yes the 25 year run was amazing and filled with stories and memories most wouldn't have in 3 lifetimes...but that means nothing in the end if you're dying alone.
