I literally called this out in the video. Somehow this is my fault but I forgot that I can only make up to 3 videos about a line in a row before I’m labeled as a cruise hater for a week. The same thing has happened with Virgin & Royal videos Now watch tomorrow I have multiple videos about NCL & Royal and you will be nowhere to be found. To make this simple. I can tell by these clips exactly what happened. The two of them got into an argument and he disappeared. SHE went to the front desk and said she couldn't find him and wanted help. DESPITE whatever she says, that conversation with them involved her telling them she was afraid of what he might do because of his history. This all blew up in her face, but rather than admit that what she said spurred this, she's acting as if Carnival found out about his mental issues by checking their crystal ball. Carnival had to step up their policies on people like this after a large group of people started blaming them after the probation violator disappeared.

She couldn’t find him so she went to the crew and told them about his history of depression and that she was worried about him. They found him sitting on the Lido with his bags and tried to talk to him but he wasn’t responsive. The gf started the whole ball rolling by disclosing his history of depression.

He was sitting on Lido with his bag late at night. I guarantee you he got into an argument with his GF and was threatening to “leave the ship”. A man just went missing recently (same ship possibly) and Carnival can’t take any chances. Just like you can’t yell “fire” in a theater or “bomb” in an airport, there are things you can’t say on a cruise ship without them taking actions to protect yourself.

Plus she said security asked him to return to his room and he refused and refused to talk to them. THAT'S probably why they put him on cabin arrest. No telling how long it took for them to get him back to the room from the initial point of contact. Mind you, I'm NO fan of Carnival or their security after our recent September 11 sailing on Radiance where a member of our own group made threats against both security and his female companion he shared the cabin with, and in front of security attempted to carry out those threats in the FIRST night of the sailing. Security did NOTHING adverse to him and essentially left the female victim homeless on the ship, and she NEVER an active party of the aggressors threats and actions, other than on the receiving end. That is a COMPLETE breach of contract by Carnival and Security of sections 9(e) and 9(k) which as an in this situation they are very quick to hold passengers accountable for, but their failure to act to protect PER rise sections of the contract were completely dismissed and corporates only response thanks to my email was a phone call from corporate saying they will assess more training bc not taking action against the aggressor who directly threatened security themselves as they were witnesses was unacceptable. And offered zero compensation to the victim because the aggressor paid for the room, and he was allowed to stay in the cabin and free to roam the ship freely with 4 full days to carry out his threat against her, while she was NOT given another empty cabin but placed with another member of our group for ONE night with no compensation anyone. She ended finding different strangers to stay the night with every night bc Carnival failed her miserably and also victimized her. So for me personally, I can't advocate for Carnival, but seems like security decided to do their job in this situation. Apologies for the long post

If you watch her whole video, it sounds like they were fighting or arguing, he took his bag and left the room. She couldn’t find him so she went to the desk and asked if they could call for him over the ship speaker and somewhere in that said she was worried about him because he had a history of depression. Instead of doing an all call, they called security and have locked him in the room so he doesn’t jump off the ship (based on what she said when she demanded they all-call him. If this is the case, I can kind of understand why they are keeping him in there considering how many people have ended up over the side recently.

The only part you missed was them finding him on the Lido deck talking crazy with his bag - maybe even threatening to “leave the ship.” He refused to talk to security, but was making a spectacle of himself (just like the gf is). Carnival is trying to descalate the situation and they are doing everything they can to keep it on everyone’s radar. Oh, and he’s being fed well. They are not denying him food. Just not letting him run about the ship. Too much drama.

The only time I’ve seen people locked in their room was when they were threatening self harm. In both cases the 2 passengers said they were going to jump off the ship. The 2 passengers were being sarcastic. One was in the casino when a guy suffered a big loss and the other was when a passenger was going to get cut off at the bar. Either way they don’t play around with self harm and I don’t blame them.

His girlfriend (LEX VEE) has posted videos on Facebook , in the comments she says she asked for him to be paged onboard as she (apparently) couldn’t find him, she was worried & admitted to staff he had a history of depression, and she needed help to find him & make sure he was ok. Clearly something had happened to make her so concerned for his whereabouts (she doesn’t state what that was). Carnival doesn’t just isolate people for no reason; there is more to this story folks. ***See quote below:*** “ they don’t it’s never been confirmed they said does he have a history of depression or suicide I said everyone gets depressed I just need u to find him so I know he’s okay and they took that and changed it to I said he has a suicide attempt on the ship and that he would jump and I never said that”

Listen my brother as a black man I'm just going to keep it real with you. As if looking at your story through a glass window we can clearly see that is something missing in this equation. There's something you're not telling us that you felt the need to leave out. You brought your story to us with hoping that we would believe it however the majority of us that are listening all have been on cruises before. We know the rules and regulations so what I'm basically saying is something jumped off between YOU and YOUR GIRL that she felt the need to report you missing. All because of what she said to the service clerks they alerted Security of this matter. So now if you want to blame anybody for the reason why you're in your room then start with your girlfriend 1st because this has nothing to do with Carnival the only thing Carnival did was making it safe for everyone else to enjoy themselves. When there are toxic moments these type of things are bound to happen this is why you have to leave that toxic foolishness at home and don't bring it with you. When you are not accustomed to stepping outside of your comfort zone to go into another environment you have to use better judgement because negative energy is not tolerated. Now your depression is one thing however we all know that it's more to the story than just depression hell the reason why your girl can't bring you anything to eat is because they separated you 2 from being around each other for a reason upon the completion of this investigation. Carnival was taking safety precautions for everyone on that boat including the both of you so good luck with this story and don't look for a lawsuit because you won't get one. Plain and simple if you're not ready to enjoy yourselves just like everyone else then it's reasons why you stay yo selves at home until you have the right attitude to come out and play like you have some sense! I have only been on two cruises. Both were delightful experiences, but each of the ships had frightening experiences on subsequent cruises. The Ryndam had an intoxicated passenger drop an anchor which brought the ship to a sudden stop off the Alaskan coast, while the Diamond Princess became the Covid plague ship that went from Japan to the US across the Pacific with all passengers confined to their cabins. My guess is that the girlfriend in this case is in the balcony cabin they booked, while he is in an unsold inside cabin which is, at least, better than the brig. In this case, I expect that the Captain knows all about the situation, police will be waiting when the ship gets back to port, and a full refund will be offered.

My guess is he had an argument with his girlfriend and stormed off. Girlfriend tells security they are looking for him. When secure finds him and is interviewed they made a determination he was potentially dangerous to himself or others. Cruise lines don't mess around with self harm. Even a bad joke about it can get bar staff to call security on you.

1. The cruise ship is not going to put itself at risk. 2. There is more to this story. 3. To be in a large contained ship, you must be compliant. If you choose not to be compliant, then stay off the ship. 4. It seems like they both are causing upheaval on the ship. I like that you point out that the person may have been flagged. They are not going to detain someone just because they have a history of depression. If that were true, most women who have had children have suffered some depression after giving birth.

Here's what I found very interesting about the words he used. "96 hours" he said. It sounds like the onboard doctor put him on a 96 hour hold because he made a threat to himself or someone else and he's been confined to his room. I worked in mental health for 10 years, and even though the girlfriend says he didn't make any threats, a medical person had to have reason to put him on a hold. Security is put in place when people are put on a hold. I'm surprised the girlfriend is allowed to come and go out of that same room.

He also said that he spent $2,000 and I’m calling BS on that. Our cruise was $550 total for me and my wife. We actually looked at the same cruise this guy is on for this week and the total was right around $800. Something isn’t adding up

My auntie had an episode on there and they gave her something to calm her down and she only had to stay in the room for the rest of the night after she was released from the ships hospitals. No security had to watch her because her daughters took turns with her but she slept most of the night

I think I have gone on a lot of cruises..... I have never felt the need to have a person be paged or security to help me find a person. If someone is not where I think they are, I know they are somewhere on the ship so I just let them show up. I would only go to Customer Service if I thought they were in danger in some sort. Now maybe on their first cruise the couple thought that "paging a person" was normal way to find someone. Maybe when the Customer Service agents said that unless it was an emergency they wouldn't do it the language became more urgent so that the staff would have to do the page. And maybe it was only after the fact when they realized that the language went too far did someone panic about the consequences. In customer service, I have had customers tell me that someone was dead to try and get what they wanted only to realize that doing so required me to close their accounts after they verbally affirmed multiple times the person was dead. Sometimes people don't understand where the line is before what they say has serious consequences. Maybe that is the case here.

Why does John heald need to speak out? No one needs to know the details unless they are involved in the situation. People are just nosey. Carnival knows what is going on, and this passenger knows why he is being held in his room. Carnival doesn’t need to explain themselves to anyone but the passenger, but the passenger clearly participated in activities that created this situation, and it was not due to a history of depression, and he is being fed.

Something is missing in this story. I suffer with depression and have been on many cruises and they didn't do anything to me. I don't think they even check. A doctor wouldn't tell the cruise line a thing due to doctor-patient confidentiality. Something else had to have happened. I'm a Carnival cruiser and will continue to cruise with them. He said they wouldn't feed him, His girlfriend could have got food for him in the lido dining room. I hope all of this turns out for the good. What a mess

I have been on Carnival ships where a person killed his wife. A man was also restricted to his room for arguing with his wife and she was placed into another room. I think his partner asked for help in dealing with him. They are not going to restrict him movement for no reason.

Oh, let me speculate, like you, in a good way. if you listen to both of them, little parts come out. It sounds like they had a little argument and he grabbed his stuff and went up and set up on the lido. Then she decided to do an all call. And I'm sure she let it slip that he might be suffering from mental illness or something. I'm sure the security, found him sitting up there and tried to question him. And I'm site just like most people, he was probably a little stubborn, and was not going to answer questions. so a lot of the comments are right. You almost need to see the video of him being upstairs with his bags and not answering securities questions, and it probably said OK. Sir, it's time to go to your room because you're tripping. LO l, but on a serious note, they both let out a lot of piece of something as they talk because you don't just do an all call and the front desk don't ask why? what's going on?????? keep the focus alive.😂

The only clue we seem to have was that he was sitting on the Lido deck with a bag which was upsetting other cruisers. What type of bag would cause other people to worry? It couldn't have been dangerous or else it would not have been allowed onboard in the first place. A lot of this story is being left out.

Did I hear the GF say she asked the front desk for an "all call page" ? Was she unable to find her BF? Perhaps she told staff he has a history of depression and caused them to be on alert and upon finding him and he not wanting to speak may have caused the staff to become alarmed. Has anyone checked his social media for a prior warning that he will jump or other threats?

Exactly what I think. She said something like “I can’t find my boyfriend. I’m worried he’ll do something. He’s tried it before” (or something like that). They find him with a bag and refusing to talk. They take “threats” of self-harm VERY seriously.

Definitely a lot of the story being left out they don’t just lock you in your room for no reason, secondly people don’t realize once you step on a boat and sail out in international waters the captain of that ship is the person in authority there is a reason this happened, he could have just been kicked off the ship altogether so I am anxious to see what the situation is

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of his family members notified the ship based on something he might’ve said, and they are doing this to protect him. That, or he did something or had some thing in that bag that warranted their actions to detain him for his own safety, and that of others.

everything that is happening here in this case is spelled out in the cruise contract that most people never read. there had to be overwhelming suspicion of the passenger being a threat to himself or someone else. If he had a passport, they would have kicked him off at the first port, they pulled into.

Vacationing has never been this complicated. 55+ years of traveling mainly between Europe and America and nothing remotely close. I do know that pilots and captains can take whatever action they want whenever you are on their airplane or ship to maintain safety.

Wait, he paid $2000 for a interior room on the Sunrise for only 5 days?? This whole story sounds off. Why didn’t he talk to the staff when they addressed him on the Lido deck with his bags? Why did he still have his bags with him on the Lido deck at 10:45 pm at night? Why haven’t the girlfriend brought him any food, she is walking around the ship freely? I was on board the carnival sunrise on this sailing. This man's cabin was on our floor. I heard from several people around the boat that him and his girlfriend got into an argument on board and after that there were two security guards outside of his door at all times. I did talk to them they were extremely friendly and nice. In my opinion sometimes things get said in the heat of the moment and that can come back to bite you in the a**. Even if he didn't mean to make his girlfriend think he was going to jump he caused enough concern that carnival did exactly what their policy states they will do if that situation arises. The staff was absolutely wonderful and friendly. THE AC WASNT BROKEN.🙄 It was a wonderful cruise. I feel like some people just don't know how to act and can be nearly impossible to please. The only issues we had were with other cruisers who were rude or entitled. Which is expected when you get nearly 3,000 people all together, not everyone is going to get along. That being said 95% of the people we met on board were wonderful and nice people! I hope this man doesn't waste money trying to sue because he definitely will not have a case to stand on. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.🤷

Putting 2 and 2 together, I think she couldn’t find him so she asked guest services to page him. Guest services probably asked if he had a history of depression because they were concerned that maybe he went overboard, the girlfriend answered yes. When they find him on the lido, he appears to security as if something might be wrong, so carnival decides to quarantine him for his own safety. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

So- She couldn't find him, maybe they had an argument and he said something- he took off to the lido deck with his bag- she had to have said something like I can't find him and I'm concerned with a lot of emotions since you can already hear them in her voice, so she asked them to page him and I'm assuming he didn't come so security searched him out- and he was acting some kind of way on deck that triggered security, the captain, and likely medical decided to deem him a threat to self. After the issues Carnival has had recently with the disappearance of the last man- you can see how they may have reacted strongly to the situation. (Only inference from what she said obviously.)

I wonder if a crew member overheard a conversation about his medical his history that was brought to the Captains attention. Or like you mentioned the manifest was ran through CBP and a warrant or detainer was issued and Carnival was asked to hold on to him. Carnival has a ton of lawyers and nobody gets locked in a room without the Captains permission and it probably came from corporate as well.

Thank you so much for this. I have run into all these things. A bariatric walker with a seat has saved me many times. I also have requested a wide wheelchair for embarkation and debarkation. If they don’t have that available the walker helps. I can stop and rest if I need to. Some things like excursion’s just never work out. The pool for adults on RC at least has steps but I wouldn’t necessarily call it a pool as you can only stand and not swim. The hot tub in the adults only was easy in and easy out though. I can also add that getting an accessible cabin solves the shower problem and most of the potty problems. If anyone wants to ask me questions about RC and my experience I will try to answer. I would not give up my memories and experiences but I wish some things were easier❤️❤️❤️

Doubt we'll get the true full story as the cruise line probably won't release information that could get them sued. We'll only get one side of the story. If I had to make a guess, they probably got into an argument and he took his bag and left the room. She went worried to guest services and was worried he'd do something then they found him on the lido deck not willing to talk to them so they put him in his room for his own safety. Why would they even ask her if he suffered from depression (her words to them "everybody gets depressed") sounds to me like she said something that she now regrets.

They approached him on the Lido, where he was sitting w his luggage, and he wouldn’t talk to any of them. If they hadn’t talked the gf’s concerns seriously and he DID do something like jump ship, then they would be liable.

There’s more videos on his Facebook page… something about how he has to be assessed by the ship doctors and a telehealth psychiatrist visit in order to be released from his room. There is people commenting on his videos asking why he was sitting with his bags on the Lido deck before he was stuck in his room and people are speculating an altercation with his girlfriend.
