Passing On Niigata Ondo | PBS HAWAIʻI

When I was first introduced to the dance Niigata Ondo, I started learning the dance for the very first moment doing the dance at Wahiawa Soto Mission Ryusenji Temple, I was so overwhelmed with joy and happiness learning a new dance that was taught by Uncle Richard. And till this day as a member of the Soto mission Bon dance club I’m proud to have learned something that has a important meaning to it and I hope we keep dancing to the rhythm and honoring Uncle Richards memories for generations to come.
