i used to wprk at spirit of Hallowee and Hobby lobby (Yes ik bad stpre but the managers were actually chill amd didnt really ming lgbt ppl, its ppl higher then them who do) AAANYWAYS At spirit is was so fun helping ppl. esp when it was slow. HL on the otherhand 😂😂😂 omfg i have a fear of hights and if you dont know those ladders are lile 10 ft. This AH lady asked for a christmas box on the top shelf. Not an issue... Until she kept saying "no wrong one" or "no i dont like this one." I ended up just pulling down every box. She even was like "let me use the ladder i can get it." I WAS LIKE NOOO!! I started to feel so sick and finally she picked 5 boxes, FROM THE BOTTOM SHELF 💀💀💀 Thats the only time i *hated* helping someone. I dont work anymore bec of disability, but i do miss it...

I made my first market bag in strawberry using sugar n creme yarn. I have one in acrylic (gray) using hdc for the straps. I just ordered more sugar n creme yarn. Also, I'm making baby hats, some of which I plan to donate to homeless shelters and hospitals using the ice creme baby yarns. Thank you for your channel, I'm inspired to start crocheting again. I learned when I was 17, now I am 59. I have made blankets for two of my grown children and baby blankets for 3 of my 7 grands.

former joann's keyholder+education coordinator here: your experience is unfortunately pretty common. corporate is constantly slashing hours so the stores are staffed with the absolute bare minimum number of people (one person on CC and another on register--one of those 2 employees is sometimes the manager on duty who ALSO has to answer the back door multiple times each day for various drivers). Those two employees are also required to answer phones, stock shelves, recover/straighten aisles, open+close cages of high-ticket or high-theft product, and fill BOPIS orders, AND whoever's on register isn't supposed to stray more than like 10 ft away. it's insane. inventory tends to be wildly inaccurate, partly due to shrink. also the system sometimes tells you the quantity for products that have been ordered for the following week but haven't physically arrived at the store yet. this doesn't happen at every store and isn't even consistent from product to product (fabric is the worst imo, could have 10yds of something but it might be ten separate pieces that are 1 yard each). i have no clue how well the system handles returns or SFS orders--if somebody returns a skein of yarn, maybe the quantity is updated to +1 but the yarn hasn't physically made it back onto the shelf yet. there usually isn't much product "in the back" except maybe one day a week when the big truck arrives. when it exists, almost all overstock is high up on top of the shelf in the same aisle where the product should be displayed. this requires an employee to wheel over one of the big ladders to check the top stock. between joann's, michael's, and hobby lobby, joann remains my favorite, but it's really disheartening to watch corporate running their stores into the ground. if anyone from corporate sees this: pay better wages and schedule additional staff. This will result in more organized stores and will improve both employee satisfaction as well as customer service!

I absolutely ADORE scrappy projects and I would love to see you try it too! It may be tedious to tie the pieces together for some (it's mindless and relaxing for me) but the experience is fun and the outcome is always something different! I love making the cakes AND the projects, so I certainly recommend it. If you don't want to make magic cakes or need more scraps to make a project with, I'm sure some of us would love to make some to send to you to play with! I really love your videos, by the way. It's one of my favorite things to watch and listen to while I crochet! (I'm currently making a beanie.)

The yarn struggles with the bag at the beginning are so relatable right now. I bought two skeins of cotton for a market bag and now I have 30cm of stitches and no yarn left. So now I have to buy another whole skein that I'll barely use (at least for this project) and hope really hard they still have it and the colours match. 🙄

Hi Kelsie, The yarn for sweater was Big Twist , used 5mm hook and did the size small. You tried the Med size but the gauge was messed up. I ALWAYS have trouble with the gauge! Nice pink scissors!

As someone who worked at Joann’s - there is so much stock that is assigned to the store online but is sitting in the storage boxes on top of shelves or still in its shipping boxes in the back. There’s also a solid chance someone picked up the yarn, walked off with it, and put it down in some random spot somewhere else. Best bet if you definitely want a specific color, is to order online for pickup in store. At the store I worked at, they fulfilled these orders often same day so there isn’t a time issue, and the employee can - at their own best determined time - go do this yarn search for you. Extra plus, there is often a coupon specifically for online/online pick up in store orders that will apply to any purchase that isn’t a doorbuster! P.S. - Joann’s is going through bankruptcy for a reason. Their shops are chronically understaffed and management specifically instructed me to never waste time looking into the top shelf storage or go looking in the back for anything unless the customer looked like they absolutely would not give up on it.
