If she plays now, she’d play it whole differently. Amazing
@Jay-gl1ch3 жыл бұрын
I'd say Hilary in her younger days has a kind of disciplined playing (she play a lot of bach so it's a given). Versus the current Hilary, she is much warmer -- pushing her sound to the edges.
@tylermoore82183 жыл бұрын
@@Jay-gl1ch agreed, rather than playing it safe, she is exploring her capabilities to see how far she could possibly go on the violin, to be perfect, and she will never find that, so she settles on just constantly getting better. Good for her!

The piece of calls and responses, only ysaye could compose a good piece like that. And only a few people could make it sound good, Hahn being the top of that list.

Beautiful sound (even when the score indicates “brutalement” 😜) and exquisite tuning that of Hilary Hahn. But a curious interpretation, for example in the last movement “Les Furies” a whole measure is skipped (C.53) with everything in it !!!😂 and at the end of that same movement, she does not play the Lento indicated, she still goes on Allegro Furioso tempo 😂😂😂 Without a doubt she can afford it .... Big level !

I know Im quite off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream new series online ?

Maybe she learned it wrong? I can't imagine Hilary Hahn, of all musicians, would simply leave out a whole measure on purpose or ignore significant tempo markings. 😂

The first tunes made me think of one of js bach's pieces, partita in e major
@soumiksinharoy25713 жыл бұрын
Even I thought so..
@simonbross50463 жыл бұрын
This is why: "At the very beginning of the movement, Ysaÿe directly quotes the beginning of Prelude from J. S. Bach's Partita No. 3 in E major for solo violin. Much like Bach's E major Prelude, the movement consists of virtuosic sixteenth notes throughout, yet Ysaÿe's use of chromatic tonality clearly sets the piece in the genre of early 20th century music. Direct quotes from Bach's Prelude appear frequently, showing Ysaÿe's "obsession" with Bach's work."

typical HH perfection (except for 7:54 nice to know she's human), but it was too nice. the "obsession" parts of the 1st mov, and the last mov need to be more aggressive, wild and rough. this isn't Bach. her own "obsession" with absolute perfection above hair raising excitement and passion makes her playing a bit boring sometimes.
@lectings36264 жыл бұрын
but thats what sets her apart from other performers. and its the reason many people prefer her playing over others. and they wont think it is boring. thats just an opinion of people who choose to not see from her perspective
