I am in almost the exact same boat as Mike here. Joined the military 18 years ago and have been in law enforcement for 13. Started my first site in April of last year also in the camping/outdoors niche lol. However, I have yet to see much traffic on it, it is barely scraping by at about 7-8$ a month so its atleast covering the hosting. I just recently decided to try branching out into some other niches and look forward to your content each week Morten. I just subscribed to Mike's channel and will binge watch it as well. Hi Morten, I have a question concerning the Keywordchef tool: so I take your example of the golf bag in the video: in the serp column there were a few spots in green and yellow, but at the place of the green and yellow spots there was no search volume, mostly a 0. Is this important, can this be ignored if you're searching for an underserved topic in the tool?

Ignore the volume numbers, they are not that helpful as you will rank for 20-100 different phrases. Use your gut feeling to think about whether this would be searched by people.

Great Video! I m around 6000 pageviews now and applying to ezoic. Quick question: Is it usual to earn this much ($1000+) from 30,000 pageviews using ezoic and amazon? Or is this something unusual? And also how much should I expect from the 10000 pageviews mark? (Over 50% of my traffic is from the US)

It' very hard to say. Mike here is getting around $30 per 1,000 pageviews, and that's maybe a bit on the high end for most new bloggers. But with affiliate AND ads you can definitely get there. I have sites earning a bit less than that also also sites that ean 3-4X that when there are really good affiliate deals that I could negotiate with...

First, congratulations Mike. Great interview Morten! I have a small question about the size of a niche. Suppose you wanna make a site about house painting. would you go for a domain name that is specific for house painting or broadly just as writing content for everything that happens in a home? I'd open that up and not limit the future of the site to only be about painting a house. Choose something with "house" and a broad word.

The biggest pain point is having a bunch of non-us traffic, and your US-EPMV being crazy high but only apply to 20% of the traffic. Do you actively do things to avoid non-us traffic? Lastly with your info products, what is an epmv for them that you shoot for? Judging by the numbers you have shared on other videos an extra $100 EPMV seems doable with info products in the range of 20-100$

For your first question, I don't think much about the country other than making sure that I target something Americans care about. EMPV $100 is definitely doable if you have a strong info product. But it's HARD to convert blog traffic to info products, as they will have to know you a bit. KZbin is better there (like my channel here and my course which is an info product).

Hi Morten! Recently, Ezoic removed their 10000 pageviews requirements but there's a controversy going on that ezoic integration is literally killing the sites. You should do a video on this topic showing how to integrate with ezoic without sacrificing speed. I remember, there's a video on your channel about maximizing earnings but I think that doesn't really cover the integration part.

We have two dedicated Ezoic tech guys in the community for my course helping my students out. Just make sure to integrate with name servers and follow the recommended steps such as removing ALL other speed plugins and caching.
