I absolutely love Eve Arden! I watch her on Our Miss Brooks regularly and the Mothers in law was one of my favorite shows also.

Can't get over how well & good Ray Bolger looks here for 1967. He played the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz in 1939. I believe he could still dance just as good by this time & for years after this. He was simply amazing. Sadly, we lost Ray in 1987, he certainly lived Judy Garland out & Eve Arden was wonderful too & was great in Grease.

Ray Bolger also played Barnaby in Babes in Toyland 1961.

For a man almost in his mid-60s, Mr Bolger indeed looks very good! I remember in the late 70s or early 80s when he did TV commercials for Safeway for a line of products they came out with called "Scotch Buy". Quite a dancer, even then !!

For "Fin" I guess an obvious clue would be "Huckleberryyyyy" (of course they don't care about spelling as long as phonetically the contestant gets it right)

I agree. The commercials give a sense of where the world was at, during a particular time. A real indication of the culture of the time.

@@kurtmorris454 Cigarette ads on t.v. were stopped some time in the 1970's, as more and more medical evidence came to light about the severe health dangers of smoking cigarettes. Lung cancer, emphysema, respiratory problems, and lots more. Second-hand smoke was also found to be detrimental to health. The U.S. tobacco industry was very powerful, and lobbied hard to keep cigarette ads on t.v., and in print. They did all end up disappearing, finally.

It's like any appearance on any show, they usually got paid per appearance and I seem to remember that back in the 60s there was an actor/actress that made the comment they were paid about $250 an appearance...or basic, "scale" for an actor. IOW, I don't think it made a difference how big a star you were, you got paid the same fee.

For "Appeal" I might have tried the word "Law" (at least far down the list). I think with enough prior clues, it could be the linchpin/key :-)

some of the worst PW players I've ever seen. Ray Bolger got 1 word in the first lightning round and had to cheat to get that, and 3 in the second round after saying 2 of them back to back which I've never seen before.
