Angie was stunning and what a voice! I saw her at Beverly Hills Mercedes Benz in the late 80s. She was dropping off her Mercedes 560 SEC coupe and she looked gorgeous driving it! 😄

Angie was excellent, defying stereotypes and prejudices, including my own. Separately, it's no wonder they eliminated opposite clues in later versions. Finally, Ludden's public service announcements now seem almost quaint

And an absolutely brilliant player @Elaine McDonnell. I wish they had more Password episodes with her in them. She would have been phenomenal with Betty White or Arlene Francis. And of course with Peter Lawford. Unfortunately this episode always had her on the receiving end of the lightening round. I would love to have seen her giving the clues in that. And on top of that she was very funny. Though she wasn’t the slender rose of Leslie Anne Warren, any Cinderella who had to compete with her natural wit, charm and intelligence would have found her a far bigger challenge vying for a prince who had the wit and intelligence to appreciate those qualities in her.

It's interesting. At the 20:15 mark, when Angie gives Sinatra as a clue, Allen Ludden tells her to be "careful". Peter Lawford and Sinatra were very good friends but their friendship ended in 1962. Lawford at the time was married to Pat Kennedy, the sister of President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy was visiting California and had initially planned to stay with Sinatra at his estate. However, RFK was uneasy about Sinatra's supposed-ties to organized crime and instead talked Kennedy into staying with Bing Crosby instead. Sinatra, finding out after planning extensively for JFK's arrival, blamed Lawford, expecting that he would have stepped in and talked Kennedy out of the decision, since he was not only Kennedy's brother-in-law at the time but extremely close with Sinatra. Sinatra then banished him from the Rat Pack and the two never spoke again (beyond a brief moment in 1963 when Frank Sinatra Jr was kidnapped and Sinatra reached out to Lawford to get help from RFK, who was very close to Lawford). Sinatra swore off the Kennedys at that point and even cut Lawford out of the movie 'Robin and the 7 Hoods' and replaced him, ironically enough, with Bing Crosby. In this episode, which aired in October, 1964, Lawford hadn't spoken with Sinatra in two years with their friendship officially over. The 'careful' comment very well could have been due to all that . Or maybe not lol I just thought it was interesting.
@KlickyMonster2 жыл бұрын
I believe it is much simpler. Sinatra was then being called by a disparaging nickname, “the skinny g****a.”

The panel and the audience are near hysterical to the point where some of tem might have a seizure.
