Majorie Lord played Danny William's (played by Danny Thomas)second wife on the tv sitcom "Make Room For Daddy". The first wife was played by Jean Hagen for three years, and got three Emmy nominations. Thomas didn't appreciate her leaving the show, and had her character killed off instead of just replacing the character with a different actress. It was the first character to be killed off on a family tv show.
@ChrisHansonCanada
@ChrisHansonCanada 2 жыл бұрын
YES. The first season (1957-58) that Jean Hagen wasn't on the show caused the ratings to plummet, so at the end of Season 5 the new character played by Marjorie Lord was introduced.

This is one of the WORST episodes with bad celebrities. The Password "Nation" was an example of why most showbizzies should never get in front of a camera without cue cards. Miss Doofus , who forgot that she was living and working here in the States , NOT in Vodka-ville/ Hammer & Sickle land, and Mr. Dense are examples of most "Hollywooders". Clueless without cue cards. D.T. must have worn house slippers all the time because he could not figure out "Comfortable" and "Shoes". HOW did he and she ever have a TV show that got watched?!? ugh! Danny Thomas may have donated $ to a children's hospital but this episode really shows that he was egotistical and stupid and rude at the same time. Total cheating on the "Horizon" clue with his hand and the enabler ( Allen Ludden 🤥) gave him a green light. The male contestant said he was an electrical engineer working on missiles.... oy-boy 🥵 His products probably never flew straight, if they even launched at all. To be an engineer, most people had to have good grades in High School to get into College. He had very poor English language skills. He was almost as daft as the female guest who made hand gestures instead of guessing a word. The Password "Staple" was mangled badly. Save bandwidth and trash can this episode from You Tube !

Hello. There is a book which could have helped the celebs and the contestants: A Thesaurus. {Latin for "Treasure House"} I have a Roget's and a Webster's N.W. edition. If I had applied / entered to be on a game show about WORDS, then I would spend at least a couple of days reading several pages in a Thesaurus. Garage/Yard sales and Thrift store finds make it easy on the wallet. Clues for comfortable could be ---> contented, cheerful, easy, rest, relaxed, untroubled, healthy, rested, pleased, soothed, relieved, strengthened, restored. There are several two or three-word phrases, but P-W did not allow more than one word.
