Why does she incessantly chatter while Allen is talking to the audience between clues? Irritating.

@@lynnturman8157 Every time she's been on (but the last time inparticular), Allen has told her TWICE (that I'm aware of), to just provide the clue because of her constant talking. I could tell from other times she's been too and from what Allen says that he's not fond of her and yet he STILL keeps having her back :(

I was thrilled to find this old episode! That’s my mom partnered with Betsy starting at 9:04. Times have changed. Can’t believe when Betsy didn’t know the word HUDDLE she said, “Girls aren’t supposed to know that!”.

I think she was just trying to be nice to your mom. Your mom was trying to give the clue of "Hut!" which the quarterback yells when he's ready for the ball, after the huddle. Your mom said "Hep!" which made no sense---she clearly was not a football fan. So Betsy said, "Well ladies aren't expected to know that".

Allen sure didn't (you could tell that clearly from ALL the episodes she's been on, but especially that LAST one. She kept talking and talking about nothing and he's even had to tell her two different times "Just provide the clue."

I have made comments on other You Tube videos how I feel about Betsy Palmer . Frank Giffords appearance on this show was surprising given the fact that he played in that tough and disapointing loss to the Chicago Bears in the NFL Championship game the week before on Dec 29 1963. Gifford scored the Giants only touchdown . Gifford also shows no sign of the brain injury , then unknown that effected many football players . Also another historical perspective Ms Kathy Lee was a nine year old little girl at this time .

Frank Gifford was VERY good looking. Johnny Carson came home early and discovered his wife's 'shrine' to her love Frank Gifford and it ended their marriage.
@waldolydecker8118
@waldolydecker8118 2 жыл бұрын
Carson was already separated and his wife was living in a separate NYC Apt. Carson heard rumors about Gifford and when he knew his wife would not be home, he took his attorney ( Bushkin), and two armed pals (one with Mob ties), and the four of them BROKE into his wife's apt, discovering Gifford's clothes and belongings inside. Carson used the evidence in his divorce proceedings. Bushkin has written and told the story in interviews. This occurred shortly after Carson took over 'Tonight'....year 2 or 3. Carson's apartment break-in was similar to one conducted a decade earlier in 1954 California by Joe DiMaggio, his buddy Frank Sinatra, and their LA Sunset Strip thug associates who were trying to catch Marilyn Monroe in an LA apartment with a lover. Jealous ex-husband DiMaggio wanted revenge after his recent divorce and had hired a man to tail Monroe. In the dark of night, DiMaggio and his pals used a fire ax to chop down the apartment door where they were tipped Monroe with a lover, but the buffoons busted into the wrong apartment; that of 39 year old secretary Florence Kotz. The perps escaped and were not identified by Kotz in the dark of night, but they were outed by 'Confidential' magazine three years later when one of the perps snitched after DiMaggio refused to pay his henchmen because they gave him the wrong apartment number. Ms Kotz sued DiMaggio, Sinatra, and their co-defendants and settled out of court for a relatively small amount. Classy times.

GREAT! look who's on :( I can tell from previous episodes (the last one, especially) when Allen has had to tell her, not once, but TWICE to "Just give the clue" that he doesn't care for her, and yet he CONTINUES to have her back :( She never SHUTS UP (although I'll admit, she wasn't nearly as annoying as she usually is)

Frank Gifford's forecast for the Giants' 1964 season was understandably optimistic. After all, they had won three straight division titles and he was talking about his own team. But the Giants made some terrible moves in the off season (including trading away middle linebacker Sam Huff) and the team got old at other positions. The only reason to watch out for the Giants in 1964 was to see them falling from the top to the bottom of the division with a 2-10-2 record (far behind the sixth place Pittsburgh Steelers who were 5-9).

Lets just be honest...she was good looking, but an annoying ditz on this show...always talking relative to the words at hand, which was unfair to those losing because her comments and gestures aided the loss - sometimes, 22:20 her comments across the table would even hurt her own partner.
