In it’s time is what’s crazy- no one was throwing that kind of difficulty back then because it was all about execution only. She was daring beyond belief.
@genlyai5055 Жыл бұрын
@@saragrant9749 Wrong in so many ways. A) no one throws that kind of difficulty NOW; they do the same three tricks/combinations badly and gracelessly. Dudnik's ravishing balletic flow makes the difficulty of her routine exponentially harder. B) by 1989 people were doing fronts onto the beam, fronts on the beam, and full-in dismounts, to name only three difficult skills. C) execution scores, then as now, depended on the judges, their political biases, and whether or not Smelly fucking Scrim had dirt on them. At least you figured out that she was daring. LOL!

@@saragrant9749 No....she IS NOT. It's a shame that you're so ignorant that you think the number of times one falls off the beam is the avatar of anything, including 'consistency'--but that's YOUR problem. Grace, fluidity, flexibility, flow, composition, etc. ad infinitum, are what makes a great beam worker. Beam is supposed to be fiendishly difficult and look absurdly easy. Johnson was a gymnast I admired a great deal, but she is not among the all-time great beamers.

You seem to be counting both LOSO's in Dudnik's routine, but only 1 can count towards the 8 elements, and at the same time she has to count 3 leap/spin elements, so either way she must count 3 A skills for that routine. The bonus for F+ dismounts was also removed from the new code, so that's a 5.7 routine.

@@leykimayri I didn't say every beam routine back then lacked acrobatic skills, obviously there were exceptions, I said beam routines "mostly" had few acrobatic skills, maybe one layout back somersault or a free cartwheel thrown in if you were lucky, so this girls routine was one of the exceptional ones. As for Mukina's injury I believe that was on the bars if I'm right while I was talking about the beam If I had been talking about 1969 then I would have said there were no acrobatic skills whatsoever
