bravo the routine of Ponor is by far insurmountable until the moment 2018, great strength, precision, high degree of difficulty and limpeza characterize it, there is the insurmountable challenge so far. Great Catalina.

Lack of variety in skills was my issue with it. It was cleanly executed but not very exciting. I loved her teammate Oana Ban’s routines much more as they were more varied in skills including.

As of now I still stand on what I wrote 6 years back. Everyone has their preference in which I respect. I still prefer Catalina's as in my eyes.. Calm and cool making hard elements look easy. Also my personal preference for having fabulous style / look / polish points. For those who state they're not that hard.. Go ahead.. Get up there and do it as fluid as these gymnasts make them look. Record yourself.

I think Pavlova proved that you don't have to have extremely long legs or be super skinny to be very very elegant. She has such great artistry, I love it! :)

I think that Pavlova's all around balance beam in 2004, is her best ever. So Solid and beautiful, but the 2008 ef is lovely too =)

excellent choices! never watched that pac rim, so that was a pleasant surprise for me. absolutely stunning routine from her. 1-3 are phenomenal. pattersons is so memorable for obvious reasons, mainly because she drilled that dismount. the chinese will always be my faves on beam tho. fluidity of 70s gymnastics with present difficulty. love their beam sets.

Before I even watched gymnastics I remember seeing Ponor at the 2004 Olympics and just being in awe. 3 golds! I try to ignore her sportsmanship though after hearing reports of her bullying and emotionally abusing other Romanian team members. The rumor is that Porgras quit because of her. With power comes ego... who knows the truth but where there’s smoke there’s fire... she’s a legend nonetheless.

Well I am going to tell ya that I loved and adored Shawn Johnson ever since I was about 3 years old. I want to be the same age as her being in the olympics and I am actually doing the same sport as her, artistic gymnastics and I want to win 3 silvers and 1 gold on beam like Shawn Johnson. Ok..I'm.sorry. but the comment about shawn having more "tricks"? Its called GYMNASTICS!! For a reason. There will always be the "personal choice" between elegance and power and its sad because these talented young ladies wjll always be criticised! This is one of the few sports they walk out with a perfect score (the D&E scores) and just get critiqued and deducted. The judges just look for mistakes and deductions lets just applause them all. And all styles

raducan- giving the ladies of the current gymnastics era a lesson in mounting the beam ye- giving everyone a lesson in hitting the sheep jump nastia and shawn have impressive tricks,pace and power but nastia's legs are always bent. shawn doesn't hit splits and has little artistry. ponor looks the most poised, fluid and surefooted.

Ponor with that Athens 2004 routine left the level reached too high, and so far none has been made with the precision and complexity that Ponor achieved. By far that first place in routines is correct, the biggest one in balance bar is Catalina

im a gymnast and got so annoyed when they were calling peoples front tucks and back tucks summersaults. Like thats a completely different thing! Loved the gymnasts routines though.
