Unpopular opinion but I personally don’t think Wei wuxian is actually as oblivious as the fans paint him out to be, down below shall be an incredibly long rant, if your up for reading lmk your opinions because I want to know if people agree and if not tell me why!! Okay let’s begin! One of the main reasons I don’t believe Wei wuxian to be oblivious is because he was never given a reason to believe otherwise. Wei wuxian evidently spent a lot of time and effort into trying to become friends with lan wangji and to be able to understand him, he knew he was getting through to lan wangji and becoming closer; but everyone else? They ALL believed that lan wangji hated Wei wuxian and *constantly* told Wei wuxian that he is being a “nuisance and that lan wangji hates him”, like literally everyone said it, Jiang cheng, uncle lan, little Nie, jiang yanli ect. Those are all the people who have said it to Wei wuxian or HAIVLY implied it to him. And let’s be honest, if people are constantly breathing down your neck and telling you you’re wrong and that someone hates you? You’re eventually going to believe them; and if you’re about to argue that Wei wuxian should have ignored them, what about when lan wangji said he hated Wei wuxian to his face? I think it’s fair enough that Wei wuxian began to believe them all. And don’t get me started on the cave moment before Wei wuxians death!! Ugh it drives me MAD! Like, poor Wei wuxian is half dead, in an incredible amount of pain and had JUST watched as the people he considered friends, family and classmates SLAUGHTER all the elderly people he grew to love and care for; and now your expecting him to be rational and emotionally stable??? NO! He’s not going to be! Once again, the man is HALF DEAD and BARELY CONSCIOUS! Of course Wei wuxian isn’t going to remember, let alone comprehend that he is being confessed to by the man that has shunned him and insulted him constantly! (Sorry I know it sounds like I’m bashing lan wangji here but I do love him I swear! 😭) Like why does everyone make it Wei wuxians responsibility? Why does everyone make it weird wuxians fault? Also does any remember when Wei wuxian tried to confess his love to lan wangji, only for lan wangji to COMPLETELY misunderstand and reject him? It was right before the temple scene with lan wangjis brother and that weirdo Jin dude who married his own sister. Honestly I have so much more to give out about but I’d be getting off track, so these are my reasons for why I don’t believe Wei wuxian to be the “oblivious” one everyone makes him out to be. 😊 Ps. I LOVED your content sm!!!

But i do feel like WWX is the type to be obvious over things like love, especially if its LWJ bc he was believed to dislike WWX.
