You always manage to control the simplicity and subtly in your tracks, but this is definitely one I'm very impressed with. The fullness of reverberating BASS, the careful textures elevating in and out through the steps of your percussive drum patterns, the mutes for climactic rising synths between the fills, the arps dancing between the vine sines, the minimal drops of water, can't say enough to describe the elements in this masterpiece.

Who needs an OB-X8? ;-) The whole sound, maybe also the mastering, is so good..
@substan_music2 жыл бұрын
In any case, only those who can afford such a thing :) Thanks ... Not much was needed for mastering. The syntakt sounds really fantastic and the slight saturation helps to glue the mix together nicely.
@marcusfreeweb2 жыл бұрын
I think the analog fx blocks from the Syntakt helps the Digitone quite a bit here. Not that it sounds bad by itself.

not enough words to describe its complexity?
@willswitchcraft2 жыл бұрын
So, where do you get the patches and samples you use.....like in the beginning, the noise......is it something you recorded yourself, or something that existed in a patch on a piece of gear, etc.? thanks for the insight....just curious
@substan_music2 жыл бұрын
I make and use my own presets and samples most of the time. Not that I do it out of principle.. I used to be a real preset junky. But in recent years I have rediscovered my love for sound design. I've already released a Digitone sound pack wich I use myself all the time and a sound pack for the Digitakt and Hydrasynth is in progress.
@willswitchcraft2 жыл бұрын
Good to hear....I've been into patch creation for decades myself (literally).....I've also created a couple of small 'ambient' patch banks for the Hydra if you're interested......

Sheer class as usual 👍👏🏻🙏. Would love to know which sounds/tracks were coming from DN and which from ST. Genius idea to use analogue FX on DN inputs. Whole thing sounds very mellow. 👍😊
@substan_music2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ken !! the digitone is responsible for all the pads, the arp that comes later and one of the bell-like sounds. ... the rest is as expected the syntakt

How is the FX chain analogue?
@substan_music2 жыл бұрын
It's called FX on the Syntakt ... it's not really FX but an analogue distortion/saturation plus multimode filter. I kind of mini Analog Heat

Syntakt & Digitone

@@substan_music thanks. Just learning about these machines. And I'm in awe. I have wondered how some of these sounds are made (film making dude here). Before synths/machines like these, was it possible to create such sounds at all?
@substan_music2 жыл бұрын
@@cubul32 In terms of synthesis there is nothing new with these machines. So sounds like this could be done with many different tools. But the Elektron workflow is very unique and intuitive ... and I think that leads to other results. It's the fact that you can do whole tracks with these machines which make them so special.

Iv watched this like 5 times now trying to figure out everything going on - as an owner of a digitakt / Syntakt & Digitone you’ve just killed all my GAS and I would love love love to see a “making of” / behind the scenes video for this track in particular. ❤️
