We get white horse in South Africa (43% is minimum abv here for whisky due to brandy industry), never bothered to buy a bottle. We used to get Glen Elgin 12 too but currently do not. I'm a big fan of Glen Elgin 12, some batches are better than others and can be quite different. It's worth noting it's one of the distilleries that uses worm tubs. So you'd expect it to be more dirty/minerally/meaty but it's sometimes very standardly speyside. I heard on reddit from a random user that they are changing the spirit style to suit blend output.
