This Greek jam tart or Pasta Flora as we call it in Greece, comes with a crumbly, sweet buttery pastry and is topped with strawberry jam or any other jam of your choice. To decorate the top, make a lattice or simply cut some shapes to be more creative. Pasta flora can be served after a meal with a bowl of ice cream or with a cup of coffee in the morning. Enjoy!

Notes for the Greek Jam Tart
- You could use any type of jam you prefer.
- For a dairy free version, you could substitute the butter with margarine.
- You could make mini tarts instead of a big one. In this case, bake them for just 15 minutes.
Storage
Store the pasta flora at room temperature for up to a week.

➡️ 2 2/3 cups / 335gr plain flour
➡️ 1 1/2 sticks / 165gr of butter
➡️ 1/2 cup / 100gr sugar
➡️ 1 egg + extra for egg wash
➡️ 1 teaspoon of baking powder
➡️ 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
➡️ 1 cup / 265gr jam
➡️ 1 orange

Σπιτική Πάστα Φλώρα Τάρτα
Αυτή η πάστα φλώρα έχει ένα τέλειο τραγανό και αρωματικό μπισκότο για βάση και από πάνω μια μαρμελάδα φράουλα ή ότι άλλη μαρμελάδα σας αρέσει. Για να τη διακοσμήσετε, κόψτε λωρίδες και πλέξτε της ή διάφορα σχήματα αν θέλετε να γίνεται πιο δημιουργικοί. Απολαύστε την με μια μπάλα παγωτό ή σκέτη με το πρωινό καφές σας.

➡️ 335γραμ. αλεύρι γ.ο.χ.

Yes you could. I haven't tried, but I would cut the apple in cubes and cook it in a pan for 5 minutes with some sugar to make it softer before adding as a filling

Φαίνεται υπέροχη η παστα φλωρα σας. Θα τη δοκιμάσω. Δυο ερωτήσεις μόνο θα ήθελα να κάνω: 1. Τι μέγεθος ταρτιερας χρησιμοποιήσατε και 2. Αν βάλω περισσότερη ποσότητα μαρμελάδας υπάρχει πρόβλημα; Ευχαριστω εκ των προτέρων για την απαντηση σας. 😊

Ευχαριστώ πολύ για τα καλά σας λόγια. Χρησιμοποιώ ταρτιέρα 23 εκατοστά. Την έχω δοκιμάσει και με περισσότερη μαρμελάδα αλλά δε μας άρεσε η αναλογία και ήταν πολύ πιο γλυκιά. Μπορείτε όμως να το δοκιμάσετε και να σας αρέσει εσάς.

@@Mamazillamoodforfood Τέλεια. Ευχαριστώ πάρα πολυ για την απάντηση σας...Βέβαια αν θυμάμαι καλα η δική μου ταρτιερα είναι 28 εκ. θα με καλύψει η ζύμη ή θα πρέπει να φτιάξω μεγαλύτερη ποσοτητα, λετε; Βάσει της εμπειρίας σας, ρωτάω.

Πιστεύω οριακά θα είναι οκ, συνήθως μου περισσεύει λίγο ζυμάρι γι'αυτό το λέω.. ίσως χρειαστεί να κάνετε πιο αραιές τις λωρίδες από πάνω. Καλή επιτυχία!
